Here I am, supposedly the result of x-millions of years of evolution, and I am sick with, of all things, the common cold.
We've seen these little buggers "evolve" resistance to our medications, and called the process "micro-evolution"...why can't we seem to "evolve" some serious resistance to them??? Finches "evolved" shorter beaks...maybe shorter noses, or something??
C'mon, you science types, how 'bout helping me out here??

Many people feel threatened by the presence of people from other races and religions growing in numbers in their own country.

There examples like England, Germany and France.

What are your suggestions for creating a sense of unity and removing problems of race, religion and gender splits?

Most financial intitutions, gov't and schools are closed as well as some union workers....do you think they really care of the significance of the day or are more worried about what to do on their 3 day weekend.

Really. Think about it. What do you mean when you say to someone, "I love you"? What are you saying? What does it mean to love someone; to love others? I'm a Christian and am looking to know what "love" really is... I want to truly love God with all my heart and I'm looking to do that... what it really means... Is it just a feeling? and affection for another person or God? Is it complete devotiion to another person? (explain what it means too) Is it putting the object of your love before yourself? this is a really gray area and I am really looking to know what love is. God has put it upon my heart to love others but I cant do that without really knowing what love is. Serious genuine answers only please... fellow believers please pray for me too... Thanks

Most ministers & priests are peerless in their daily work lives, serving as caretakers and sermonizers. The work week can stretch to encompass all 7 days.

What do you imagine occurs (or what do you encourage ministers and priests to do) to develop true human connections with other human beings, relationships that are equal, respectful, and devoid of the pastoral role?

Think about it this way. The Bible clearly promises that God answers prayers. For example, in Mark 11:24 Jesus says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." And billions of Christians believe these promises. You can find thousands of books, magazine articles and Web sites talking about the power of prayer. According to believers, God is answering millions of their prayers every day.

So what should happen if we pray to God to restore amputated limbs? Clearly, if God is real, limbs should regenerate through prayer. In reality, they do not.

Why not? Because God is imaginary. Notice that there is zero ambiguity in this situation. There is only one way for a limb to regenerate through prayer: God must exist and God must answer prayers

With very limited observation (i.e. sample size of less than a hundred), is there some underlying subconscious or social meaning to this or is this a personal preference ?

Curious to know.

do you believe it when it says the moon gives its own light? How about the curve we see in the sky being an actual dome that holds back water(the blue sky)? or what about a six-day creation? do you also think the earth is flat or that God moves the stars instead of the earth rotating?

The Hebrew form of the name Jesus -- Yeshu -- was interpreted as an acronym for the curse may his name and memory be wiped out', which is used as an extreme form of abuse. In fact, anti-zionist Orthodox Jews (such as Neturey Qarta) sometimes refer to Herzl as 'Herzl Jesus' and I have found in religious zionist writings expressions such as 'Nasser Jesus' and more recently 'Arafat Jesus.'

Rami Rozen expressed the Jewish tradition in a long feature in a major Israeli newspaper Haaretz[i]: “Jews feel towards Jesus today what they felt in 4 c or in the Middle Ages… It is not fear, it is hatred and despise”. “For centuries, Jews concealed from Christians their hate to Jesus, and this tradition continues even now”. “He is revolting and repulsive”, said an important modern religious Jewish thinker. Rozen writes that this “repulsion passed from the observant Jews to the general Israeli public”.

...and NO, you didn't just have drugs or alcohol... OK, whenever you're at school / work, do you sometimes feel like you really aren't there in a way and you're going through all these motions, but they really don't matter... EX: Writing an article for a newspaper at work or going from class to class at school... Well, does this ever happen to you?
