.... But isn't the fact that there is such a great diversity of faiths / religions / creeds (some arguably more sophisticated than others) out there, among ALL cultures of the world (primitive or otherwise), the perfect confirmation in support of the hypothesis that religions are in reality manmade phenomena / spiritual inventions? … I realize that religious/theological discussions can often lead to heated arguments and controversial viewpoints. Again, I am NOT making a judgmental and/or comparative statement regarding anyone’s religion here, I am merely asking a question based on factual observations. … Serious answers only please. ... Thank You!

It got sprang on me this evening at church that I would be leading our bible study class on Wednesday and the topic is beatitudes found in Matthew chapter 5. That doesn't leave me with much time to prepare very much so I'm asking for any insight or information that you might think helpful. Thanks in advance.

If we don't encourage this evil man to respond to our posts or post any of his own, then he will leave. Then we can get back to what these posts are for; asking questions. I feel badly for any new or old members of yahoo answers who have come here to find information that will help them and instead find hatred and confusion. Lets end this back and forth name calling now!

We only have a short time on this planet. But i'd hate to think that my full potential has only one lifetime to fully flourish and that if i miss one oppurtunity people will never know me for who i truly am. Why are we here if we only have such a short ammount of time to maximize our potential and make use of it? Surely some other place exists when we die a place where all of this would of meant something.

I'm not a religious person - i don't feel i have to be. But i certainly hope there will be a place to reflect on EVERYTHING when we die - whether it's a stereotypical view of Heavan or not, i don't know. But i just want a place where we can all exist together, minus the time limit. That would be Heavan to me.

Sorry for being so weird, i'm just having one of those moments right now.

God can get around it because he's all omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient...omni-omniful. But Satan as a limited consciousness, raises all sorts of questions about Identity. Seems a little beyond d pale to believe there's an actual personality of total cosmic evil out there....so which is it? Has satan become as abstract as his creator?

There has always been the great divide between our genders. There are women who love doors being opened for them and those who feel offended by it.
I do want to say thankyou to the guys who are open minded, thoughtful and galiant (those who open doors, carry heavy things and stand up to give up their seat) and want to say how sorry I am for the times you may have been abused for doing so. As men, you are valued and valuable in a plutonic sense too. I also want to recognise those of you who support equality and further release women into their talents and gifts that may even cause them to be in a place of authority over you. It proves your security.
So now, opinions please... I love to read what you all think.

an art teacher was fired for "exposing children to a nude"
where? in a PUBLIC MUSEUM.
the kids went on a field trip, and I guess they saw the statue of David or something like that.
OH NO!!!!!!

Imagine if the teacher took them to Rome to see works of Christian art. LOTS of breasts and penises there.

do you think that she'd have gotten fired under that circumstance? I doubt it.

have religious conservatives lost their minds?

I was just thinking about how the Blessed Mother changed life eternal by simply saying, "yes". How would Jesus have come into existence if Mary had said, "no"?

If a god can do anything, can he/she/it possess a shoe? Like a living shoe, that then terrifies a nation.
