As an atheist I am so mystified to hear my religious friends sneer or laugh at the doctrines or customs of others, such as wailing walls and burqas and snake handling or speaking in tongues, while they view their own religious customs and beliefs as perfectly logical. They don't believe in Santa Claus, or the Tooth Fairy, but they believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old, or was created in 7 days, or they accept magic in prayers uttered at a special wall, or ritual cannibalism. Can anyone explain how two opposing ideas of “my reality" and “their superstition" live inside one person's head?

the idea given to me was--why believe Jesus -why not call him a prophet and reject what he says-and claim he never died-

but does it matter when we become delusional-go against history, the words of Jesus, when we have a leader who married a 9 year old girl-and said she was his best of his wives. the koran says Jesus was the only prophet witout sin-- why???

Moses said "The life of the flesh is in the blood, and i have given it to make atonement for your sins."

no death of Jesus =no forgiveness of sins

i prayed and came to know Jesus as my Messiah and best friend and savior-i believe him and the bible-and He closed the bible in Revelation 22-the last chapter saying, if anyone adds to my book -they will receive a plague-
could that plague be delusion living with a calendar dated by Jesus -yet---

The GOP (grand oil party) would have us believe these lower gasoline prices reflect lower demand and not that they think we will forget the gauging and vote republican. Reminds me of in the Army 2 weeks b4 the inspector came around how the food improved, the mail was on time, we got more time to ourselves. The worst part was the vast majority immediately forgot all the BS and then when the inspector left back to the lousy food, no more turkey for us. How bout you do you like turkey or are you one??? yeah I know repetitous print (sound)bites sound familiar??

Im originally from spokane, wa and I moved to north florida. Man these guys are flamboyant and wussy. Also I noticed southerners talk about gay dudes alot. Personally I try to stay away from that because i find it disgusting but they seem to be obsessed with it.

Come on now, this world isn't THAT bad .. the sweetest thing anyone ever did for me was kind of silly. When at an SCA event, a young squire [knight in training] noticed I was limping and offered to carry my stuff all the way to my tent ... a good mile and a half from the road. That same kid also made sure that I had plenty snacks and water when I couldn't make it around on foot. It was totally not necessary for him to do that and it was about seven years ago ... every year I see him and he's still as sweet as can be. Alas, he's a knight now ... and a strapping one at that!

So come on, come on. Don't be shy. Step on up and post away!

...if one is in a relationship with the same sex but the nature of it is platonic and not sexual? What if both are in a loving but celibate (no sex) relationship, are they still considered homosexuals (gay / lesbian)? For Christians, what are your opinions on this? What does the Bible say? So my friend and I were talking & Jennifer Connolly comes up. I didn't know who she was, so we looked her up on Wiki. & then it said she was Jewish, and my friend said "oh my god, she's Jewish, she doesn't look it at all!" and I said "what do you mean? " and she said "oh, well, she's so pretty, you know, so you'd never know."
