Read a history book. Even a Christian history book. It's all there. The dark ages in Latin Europe were ugly and barbaric with almost no literacy throughout its population. Commerce was almost non-existent, education was offered to a few erudite who entered the Church.
Islamic culture was highly advanced and cosmopolitan. They welcomed scholars of all backgrounds, religions and nationalities to study among them. This enabled a small portion of Latin Europeans the chance to be enlightened and was very much responsible for the Renaissance.

The payment they received for their open-mindedness was to have their caliphates dessimated by the Holy Roman empire. The most famous example, of course, is the Inquisition.

I consider myself a Catholic. I believe in God. I pray everyday. I love the Church I go to.
The only problem is, I'm pro-stem cell research and pro-choice. I'm against gay marriage, actually, but I'm pro-gay people. A lot of my friends are gay, and I see nothing wrong with homosexuality.
The extreme Catholics sicken me. I think that they are more disgusting and immoral than someone who worships Satan, to be perfectly honest. I hate people who say that being gay is an "abombination to God". I just tell them that their mom is an abombination to God, as well. I think that abortion is awful, but I believe in a woman's choice to have one. I think that stem-cell research is amazing and promising. I think it's gross that all of the holy rollers that preach against it will be the first in line to get the treatments that are derived from it. Talk about controdicting yourself, right?
Basically, I think that a Catholic who condemns someone for their beliefs is awful.
Am I bad Catholic?

I know sex is out of the question, but what about things like kissing(with tongue), feeling up one another, fingering...and whatever else you can think of.

And please, no one attack me, I haven't done any of these things.

All the things that we know of - people, trees, animals, planets, universe are made up of atoms. If so, how can these atoms arranged in a specific way (brain) make us think? Does that mean machines can think too(since they are also made of atom)? Are thoughts originating from matter or is matter a result of thoughts?

126. And when Abraham prayed: My Lord! Make this a region of security

and bestow upon its people fruits, such of
them as believe in Allah and the Last Day, He answered: As for him

who disbelieveth, I shall leave him in contentment
for a while, then I shall compel him to the doom of fire a hapless

journey's end!
127. And when Abraham and Ishmael were raising the foundations of the

House, (Abraham prayed): Our Lord! Accept
from us (this duty). Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Hearer, the Knower.
128. Our Lord! And make us submissive unto Thee and of our seed a

nation submissive unto Thee, and show us our
ways of worship, and relent toward us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the

Relenting, the Merciful.
129. Our Lord! And raise up in their midst a messenger from among

them who shall recite unto them Thy revelations,
and shall instruct them in the Scripture and in wisdom and shall make

them grow. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Mighty,
Wise.
130. And who forsaketh the religion of Abraham save him who befooleth

himself? Verily We chose him in the world,
and lo! in the Hereafter he is among the righteous.
131. When his Lord said unto him: Surrender! he said: I have

surrendered to the Lord of the Worlds.
132. The same did Abraham enjoin upon his sons, and also Jacob,

(saying): O my sons! Lo! Allah hath chosen for you
the (true) religion; therefore die not save as men who have

surrendered (unto Him).
133. Or were ye present when death came to Jacob, when he said unto

his sons: What will ye worship after me? They
said: We shall worship thy God, the God of thy fathers, Abraham and

Ishmael and Isaac, One God, and unto Him we
have surrendered.
134. Those are a people who have passed away. Theirs is that which

they earned, and yours is that which ye earn. And
ye will not be asked of what they used to do.

106. Such of Our revelations as We abrogate or cause to be forgotten,

we bring (in place) one better or the like
thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things?

I believe in Jesus and all that good stuff. but I dont believe in Hell or Satan....does this mean I cant be apart fo that religion. I dont want my daughter to hear about Satan..becasue I remember when i was younger i was really scared that satan would hear my prayers and make them not happen...or somthing else really bad. Should I teahc her about Satan too? ...but tell her I dont belive in him..or shoudl I believe in him!!? ahh!! confusion!!

I am aware that there are over 200,000 canadians of Spanish (from Spain) descent. I was just wondering if these people of Spanish descent still speak spanish. I think they do, but I'm not sure. Are there any Spanish-Canadians out there who can answer my question? If they do speak Spanish, I think it's kind of cool how it's lasted over the generations and I also wanted to know if they spoke with a spanish accent or a more canadianized accent (sort of like the evolution of British English to American and Canadian English).

What of the span of time between 200a.d. and 1500a.d when Martin Luther introduced his theory on "Saved by Faith" and not repentance. What happened to all the humanity inbetween that?

If they didn't have the right idea about salvation, could they be saved? And if so, would that still hold true today?

I don't understand. Today at school our teachers showed us a chart on TASK scores by race, from 10years ago to last year. They made this graph of the ethnicy chart, and every graph I seen. Us African-Americans were at the bottom, meaning our test scores were very low. Our History teacher even talked to us about how low the African-American scores were. I just hate it! Anyway why are people still looking at race? This sad, what am I sapposed to do? Our history teacher gave us a little pep talk, and I look around and their still were some African-American kids laughing and smiling like it was funny, that our race had the lowest test scores.
