Your question is not stupid at all, because I know from personal experience, from living around them in Canarsie and Flatbush, New York that some of them think they are better than Americans because they feel we aren't as hard working as they are. I actually came across a situation where someone said "You a n!gga just like me and their response was "I am better than a n!gga, I'm Jamaican and I work hard at everything I do, unlike you". So I do think that some(not all) of them do get offended.

Black Jamaicans are Black Jamaicans and not Black Americans. There is a big difference in both the cultures.

No I don't think they get angry, but honey I am not Jamaican. So I think you should have referred this question to Jamaicans only.....if you do somebody might have thought you were being racist anyway. I just don't think they do.

I don't see why they should...
Jamaica is part of the american continents...
And if the jamaican person is of african ancestry, it seems a logical conclusion that he would be considered african-american...
Nothing to be upset or offended about....
On the contrary...
As plain as that!
