It's polite to cover your sneeze with your hand. What if you sneeze a big hocker in your palm? What to do?

Actually, health care workers are now taught to sneeze into the crook of their arm (bending the elbow and putting your inside of your elbow to your face). Well, I guess if there is a big hocker on your elbow, you can use your hand to clean it.

Use the other hand to fish out a handkerchief or Kleenex somewhere. Since no one knows, or really appreciates where it would have otherwise landed, even if you caught it, it did society a great service.

A friend of mine spent some time in various places of Africa. He said many homes have a disgusting stick in the yard. It is a target you are supposed to aim at if you have to blow your nose, sneeze, or spit. They think it so amazingly disgusting when those weird American save that stuff in a cloth in their pockets.

I usually just turn my head and sneeze into the open air where no one is standing. This accomplishes two things, 1) no one is exposed to my flying snot germs, including my hand, and 2) that way, I don't have to let anyone see my sneeze face.

If you have a hankie, take it out and discreetly remove it from your palm. If you don't have a hankie, then just put your hand in your pocket and wipe it off there.
