Isn't Judaism a religion? Thus, anyone can be Jewish, right? But then why do so many people associate certain physical and personality traits with Jews (e.g. the nose and the money stereotypes)? This would be like associating white, bearded guys with Christianity, when anyone can be Christian.

Thus, my question is: Is Judaism only a religion, or can it be considered an ethnicity (or both)?

I understand the religious aspect of the Muslim women being covered but just don't get the hat thing thing for men. I mean does it say '... you must cover your hair...'?

in my mid 20s
used to be out going, loving life
now for the past 3-4 yrs i isolated myself from people and activities
i even work grave shifts
i dont know why i am feeling like this..but im afraid for my future

my husband and my mom were both baptized (but neither goes to church - but they still identify with being catholic) and they want to go along with baptizing baby because of his parents wishes. i wasn't baptized, but even if i had been i'd still think catholicism is a bit ridiculous. i almost threw up because of the things the priest said in the "class" we had to take last sunday. stuff about not being anybody until you are baptized, and one faith one god, blah, blah. don't get me wrong, i'm spiritual... i just don't want my daughter beliving in such rigid, guilt laden dogmatic ideas... should i call off the baptism???

My purpose is to understand?

Now my thing with Manish Lez women is be who you are, but I can tell when some1 is trying to impress me, off of how masculine she appears Guys do it 2 it's really Irratating. SOME WOMEN DO THIS not all, so for the sake of the ? I have to generalize a little. I'm sorry not offence intended.

Women are always going to be that in my eyes women. Act as manish as you want, wear long white t-shirts and cut your hair short or don't shave the pits. Whatever to me your still a woman. I will still hold a door for you, and treat you like my father taught me to.

Honestly for me to treat a woman like she is a man, she would have to lay out Ray Lewis in a Football game or something.

To me if your Butch or whatever, thats cool but your still a woman. So if you have a big load of Grocieries I'll offer to carry them or something like that, is that an insult to Butch women. Is there a I don't need anything from a man attitude, my help is really an insult?

Immorality is higher then ever, so why would God's judgement on it be weakening? God had no mercy on the Egyptians with his plagues and killing of all their first born babies, and we are much more sinful then they are? Is science and responsible behavior overcoming God's judgements?

I've heard everything on this form, satanist, atheist, Agnostics, Christians, Jews etc..

But I have often heard this "STOP FORCING YOU RELIGON DOWN MY THROAT"...but
I've never seen it here or anywhere!

I had few people in my 47 years ever approach me about their religion.

In the NWT, every time the Greek word "proskuneo" is used in reference to God, it is translated as "worship" (Rev 5:14, 7:11, 11:16, 19:4, Jn 4:20, etc.). Every time "proskuneo" is used in reference to Jesus, it is translated as "obeisance" (Mt 14:33, 28:9, 28:17, Lk 24:52, Heb 1:6, etc.), even though it is the same word in the Greek (see Gr-Engl Interlinear). Especially compare the Greek word "prosekunhsan" used with reference to God in Rev 5:14, 7:11, 11:16, and 19:4 and used with reference to Christ in Mt 14:33, 28:9, and 28:17. What is the reason for this inconsistency? If the NWT was consistent in translating "proskuneo" as "worship", how would the verses above referring to Christ read?
