Sleep, generally on the best furniture. Food, including the steak and lobster that was purchased for other (human) consumption. Sleep after the food. Toys to play with and or steal from the dog. Sleep again. Food again. Snooze......chases each other around the house at top speed.....zzzzzz more sleep. Hugs and warm laps. more sleeeeeeep...especially on Mom's copier while she is trying to work. More snoozing and purring. Belly rubs and hugs...more food and sleep. More kitty kisses and nose bumps and then finally a long cat nap....but this is just my house....Have a good night!

Food, affection and shelter. Just like any other pet. They aren't dogs and most aren't social in the same way as dogs are. Get a dog if you want that kind of affection. Cats are more like people. They are more independant and will come around only when they want to.

Security, love, affection, food (of course), fussing, attention, a safe place to sleep, to not be kicked out in the rain, a gift at christmas, undivided adoration even when there is a baby in the room, scraps of leftover sunday roast, toys to keep her amused, plants to trash and a whole lotta time to sleeeeep. Well, that's MY cat -anyway.

They want to feel like they're the people and heads of the household. My cat used to get the running ball for my guinea pig stuck on his head and he looked like a spacekitty.... I think he had plans to take over mars.

They want us to feed them and to provide shelter. Occasionally they want us to notice them or pet them. Cats are not trying to be our friends and as long as we do what they want, they won't lick the butter dish while we are looking.

Their own musical, which they already have, but some of them aren't good enough to be in it, so they are pissed at the world.
