My friend told me that if you were to get hypnotized (to quit smoking, for example,) that you would be going against God. Is this true?

OK, the first part of the question is a little obvious. However, I would honestly like to hear from some folks that do, because I am intrigued as to how one that believes a set of commandments that include "Thou Shalt Not Kill" can reconcile this with, say, the Civil War, or any other war for that matter.

This is an honest question. I ask it because it seems that there is a split between:

Christians who believe that only Christians go to heaven, and there is a subset of this group who make it a point to constantly point out that non-believers will go to hell (and some even answer questions that have nothing to do with this just so that they can express this view)

and

Christians who believe that non-Christians will be judged by God based on the lives that they have lived and that God will unltimately determine whether or not to allow that soul into heaven (a view that is refuted by the previous group of Christians based on the claim that everyone is a sinner, that good works do not count, and that only accepting Jesus as your Savior will wash away the sin.)

I am just curious to know what allows for such a difference of views.

And please, if you are part of the first group - you needn't tell me for the umpteenth time that only Christians go to Heaven.

Hi, guys. I guess my husband and I have been living in the dark ages and we just now got around to watching the movie " Boogie Nights" from 1997 starring Mark Wahlberg. My HUSBAND ( I just want to stress this) wants to know if the penis that Mark Wahlberg was sporting at the end of the movie was real, or did they make him a fake one?

If Yahoo Answers deletes this question I shall rant and rave for an hour. Followed by a tantrum. Later I will admit that my question was meaningless, and should never have appeared in this distinguished forum. In the meantime I would like someone to answer it. Above all, I desire cogent answers. Thank you, and may god bless all normal people.

If you keep up with scientific news you would know that DNA researchers have now theorized that all of our dna may go back to 1 man (probably black) in Afica. I'm not kidding. I watch a lot of scientific tv programs.

This question is open to both the ladies and men, as the answers for both genders are nearly equally interesting, for different reasons, of course. For extra credit, you can include some additional information.

Come to the table and savor the sight, the wine and the bread that was broken. All have been welcomed to come as the might The one that provides them is true, to accept and know him is all we must do. Taste of the glory and savor the sorrow. The hand that is breakingi the bread soon will be broken. He's prepared for you the bread of forgiveness and the wine of release. The Savior wants you to join in the feast.

I'm currently doing a research on Transgender people, and I was wondering if any of you knew where I can find abundant professional information about the transgender community. Like the physcological challenges they have to go through. Or more precisely related to cultures. Like is it more accepted in certain cultures to be transgender? In what country is it easier to be transgender? We all know that from discrimiation transgenders are forced to be prostitutes, know anybody that has a good job within society being transgender? Anybody care to relate or know websites that I can find stories on challenges that people faced while making this change? Any info will help.

I know that you definitely treat customers differently according to how much they've tipped you in the past. (speed of service, friendliness, patience, etc). And this is fine, I totally understand!

But do you treat different types of people differently, based on how much you EXPECT from their "Type"?

For example, a 55 year old black woman tips $1 on a breakfast tab for coffee and bagel totalling $5.25. (Assuming you found this tip fair, just for example)

Would you expect a 30 year old white man to tip more than that? And if so, would you let your disappointment show toward him next time you saw him?

I really don't mean to sound racist, but those in the food service business cannot deny my example.

To put my question most basically, "Is a certain tip acceptable for some and not for others"? (Assuming you don't know who's rich or poor, because you probably don't).

I am not trying to be rude or anything but I sincerely do not beleive in God and I do not understand why others do...I think it is all just a bunch of lies...you know? I did not ask this question to "piss" people off...but I just wanted to know why you beleive or don't beleive in God...=)*
