Because pure religion was hijacked by political agendas along time ago. It's hard to find anything very divine about organized religion these days. So you're probably better off finding your spiritual answers on your own. But then again, what do I know?

its simple, gods message was never clear. when moses came down from Mount. Sianai with the commandments, he saw us worshiping a false god, a golden statue of a goat. moses was infuriated and smashed a tablet of commandments, so not even he was clear on gods message anymore.

also, a big problem is that humanity has advanced so far that a profit or "messiah" can never come again, until the second coming, if there is one. a messiah cant come again because if he talked to god FOR REAL, and even tried to share the word with others, a multitude of things would happen. his friends would recommend him to a psychiatrist or a therapist, who would tell him its all in his head. or, he could go to the hospital for some unrelated reason, try to share his word with a nurse or doctor, and in a moment he would be under an MRI, where the doctors would somehow find a tumor of somekind, or anything to explain the mans insanity (thats what humanity calls spirituality now adays), and eventually after giving in to the persuasion he would give up preaching the word of god and die an average man, or die under the knife from the surgery removing the tumor making him "crazy". sad, but that's just how corrupt our society has gotten.

God's message is clear "whosoever believeith in me shall have everlasting light......" that's pretty clear to me. Opposing religions were created so they wouldn't believe God's message.

Because we like to accommodate God's words to our own benefit, and believe what we like and discard what we don't. It's wrong but true.
