Somewhere I thought I read in the bible that only Jesus Christ could Ascend and Decend into heaven?

If it is true that Elijiah is to come back to earth, like I just read, doest this mean that Elijiah was God?

I understand stereotypes are generalizations, but it's said they come from a shred of truth. Here's the synopsis of the movie A Wake In Providence: "Going back home can be hard, particularly when you come from a traditional Italian family, and especially when the girlfriend you bring back is not Italian. But the roof caves in when she's African American. This is the problem that Anthony faces when he brings Alissa from Los Angeles to his boyhood home of Providence, Rhode Island to attend his grandfather's funeral."

Are Italians really that racist? Why? So many of them are mixed with African blood, especially in the South. They aren't really white.

I posed a simular question to them, you should see some of the very strange answers. Most of them thought that because I am NOT a homo., I am mentally disturbed and very sad. The opposite is true, I am very mentally stable (according to my last evaluation just before retiering from 22 years of WORKING at a mental hospital) and verry happy (according to all my friends in the fine singles condo I live in).

If Jesus Christ really could walk on water and do other miracles, and if he really did die on the cross to forgive our sins, why did it take so long for Christianity to explode?

I would think that the religion would have blossomed right after his death.

Roughly speaking...it seems a major religious leader was born every 600 or so. Who is next ?

Buddha was born 600 BC
Jesus was born 1 AD
Muhammad was born 600 AD
Martin Luther 1400 AD
??? (our time)

Again... chronology is roughly dated.

I asked a question about displaying the Confederate Flag outside my home and people thought I was serious. First I will fly any dam flag if I chose to, and I don't plan on taking any sensivity courses about it. I chose not to since the war is over and I am a Northerner, It's about slavery still is in the northern minds and most blacks, shame on you , don't you know Lincoln free the slaves in the South? Yes, but only in the South, The slaves in the north stayed Slaves till 2 or 3 years after the war. I don't mean to bust on anybody, but learn some history fer Pete's sake. Oh! thanks for all the answers, it was fun reading them.

I say this because of Katrina, and because of this article on Yahoo! News: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060618/ap_on_fe_st/deer_attack . The woman did nothing to the deer necessarily.

Does anyone else have any accounts of this occuring elsewhere?
Do you agree? If not, why don't you agree?

Please, no preaching on this. Please please please. No: "This was in Revelations" or "The Bible Code spoke of this happening" or "Animals are soulless therefore evil" stuff, PLEASE!!!

And this has to do with Religion and Spirituality because I'm Pagan, and Mother Nature is a huge part of our religious beliefs.

When I was baptised several years ago, I was giving a Psalm. I remember part of it, but I dont know the rest. I can't look it up on my computer because of the parental controls block religion sites. (children use this computer too). But anyway what I do remember is:

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid ... my heart shall not fear ...

That is all I can remember. If anyone knows the whole verse, that would be great. Thanks Alot!!!

O.k. what I mean is a trend over the past decade and a half where the word has almost come to represent a desirable outcome in of itself. For example all failings are summed up as lack of confidence and all achievements are seen as stemming from confidence. Which makes me ask what is the difference between that and defining all outcomes as having faith or lack of faith. What I'm saying is it seems to me that it over simplifies the complexity of life. For example if someone has a genetic makeup that allows him to play basketball at the level of Michael Jordan someone might say he's good because he has confidence. And I'm just like of course he has confidence when playing basketball he's a genetic marvel. This is just one of the situations in which I see the word used incorrectly. I think it's become similar to the overuse of the word like. For example if you’re 6 ft 200lbs and a kung-fu master doesn’t it go without saying that you would destroy an un-armed, 1 armed midget in a fight? But you would still get someone who would come out and say the most confident fighter will win.

Deuteronomy 18:18

Almighty God speaks to Moses in Book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 verse 18:

"I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and I will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him."

To whom does this prophecy refer to ?

and WHY???????

NOTE: For people who says "Jesus", please provide proofs. why does this refers to Jesus?
