What do you do to get your mind back on track?

I have a friend who really wants a clean house - or so she claims - but cannot seem to get it clean. When she finally does get it cleaned, its just a matter of days until it is messy again. I mean to tell you... if there is an empty space, something (that doesnt belong there) will end up there in a very short time. She does clean her dishes and toilet...and she does not have any bugs. But even she wonders why she surrounds herself in clutter, because actually, she's a perfectionist in other areas of her life. But in a way, it's crippling because she is embarrassed to have anyone over.

Please...any psychologists out there have any theories?

I really don't want or like to be so nervous, but I can't help it. Whenever I speak to a group my heart races and I can hear my pulse in my ears. Sometimes my voice will be a little shaky or will cut out in mid word/sentence. I didn't use to be like that either. I used to be pretty talkative and more social, and less nervous. I just want to be like that again. Any advice? Please help.

Well first off, I am 15.

I rarely care about anything.. at all. I don't care about my school work, going to school.. I lie constantly about little things.
I just started noticing it, as well.

I also can't develop a drive for ANYTHING. I can't stick to my goals and I can't keep up with anything I do. At first, I start out great in school.. and then I start slacking off a LOT.

Someone said I was a sociopath, but I really don't know.
I just don't care about ANYTHING, anything at all..

I know it's going to effect me in the long run..
Is there something wrong with me?

How can I develop responsibility.. and the ability to care and keep up with my goals?

I want to do it but I'm just too lazy and it seems like I can't.

=(

this trainer at the gym and i have had a very rocky relationship in the past(i'm not his client)but he's a middle-eastern guy who seems to have a chip on his shoulder. It seems thatr he'll be cool with me for a few months than he'll hate my guts, and then he'll be cool and then hate my guts.Lately,i have been ignoring him and even when he tries to get closer to maybe have some sort of interaction,i just put my head down and proceed with my workout, ori'll give an occasional wave and then ignore him from there.Today when he was at one of the machies sitting down,i waved at him and he sarcastically gave me a wink and a wave.Something that i do sometimes but not sarcastically.Does he have a right to be mad at me?What should i do?just ignore?

As the decades and centuries go by, are there more and more percent of people with mental disorders?

Perhaps because of eating habits or other things.. or maybe because more disorders are being officially created.

What do you think?

I'm a science major, and I would like your opinion on why homosexuality is beneficial to us. It does not allow our genes to be passed on and nor is it adapted. We do not bond with same sex partners for purposes of protection and nor have we been able to answer what this all means for Us.

Do you think scientists need to spend more time finding a connection between genetics and homosexuality? Or is it purely Nature vs. Nurture?

We have, however, been able to prove that female Japanese macaques engage in lesbianism for simply, Sexual Pleasure.

I would apprectiate well-educated answers.

Where would you go to get rid of this mad , mad world , if only for a short while? It's a "me, me, now, now" society , what would you do to counteract this?

I know a man who went to prison at age 19 and has to serve 17 years (for a violent crime - agg. robbery, agg. battery). He has been in for 4 years already. He has no family to go to after he gets out. Can prison change a person like this for the better, so that he can function in society after his release? How do you think a sentence of this length would affect him psychologically (consider the fact that he has been labelled as bipolar and paranoid schizophrenic).

The situation does not look good, but I'm interested in your thoughts on the possibilities of the outcome.

Mental stimulation has become far more important to women than sex. Maintaining a relationship incarcerated takes communication something men do not have the time in society to consider. Many more women are committing to felons. I do is the new thing getting the ring begind the bars.

I'll start off by saying I'm a 16 year old male. I haven't been diagnosed with depression or anxiety but I wouldn't doubt that I have it. I have never witnessed any death and have never seen a corpse in person. I'm certain I'm not a necrophile but I do get a strange thrill when I see real pictures of dead people. Just the thought of death fascinates me. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with the feeling of imminent death (I'm guessing those might be panic attacks). I don't think I'm clinically psychopathic but I wouldn't know if I'm crazy. I know there are millions of other people like me because there are thousands of death/black metal bands out there (that I really enjoy). What would cause this obsession?
