I'll start off by saying I'm a 16 year old male. I haven't been diagnosed with depression or anxiety but I wouldn't doubt that I have it. I have never witnessed any death and have never seen a corpse in person. I'm certain I'm not a necrophile but I do get a strange thrill when I see real pictures of dead people. Just the thought of death fascinates me. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with the feeling of imminent death (I'm guessing those might be panic attacks). I don't think I'm clinically psychopathic but I wouldn't know if I'm crazy. I know there are millions of other people like me because there are thousands of death/black metal bands out there (that I really enjoy). What would cause this obsession?

I guess it's not really an obsession yet.

Some people think the death is just a part of our life, and they have no problems to deal with that

Some others think the death as the shadow of the light, and they are really frightned just at the idea they will die sometime

It all depends on which point of view u see the matter from...

I guess u have no FEAR OF THE DARK...but I do think u r probably too adicted to a certain kind of music which sometimes tends to refer a little too much to the death as a way of escaping reality...u know what I mean, don't u?

I u fall asleep while listening to that kind of music ur brain may in a way, "become infected"...and then u wake up all of a sudden in the middle of the night, sweated and with ur heart pounding, and u have a deep feeling of unease

What do u think?

so switch off ur I-pod before going sleep...or listen to a more relaxing music!

Many are fascinated by death but not as many allow it to become an obsession. It is best to find constructive ways to deal with a fascination for death. Learn about religions, ancient cultures and their myths concerning death and what lies beyond it. You could even study crime and punishment and learn to be a murder investigator, or forensics or even become a mortician. Allowing this fascination to become an obsession will surely lead into a pit.

ya know, alot of these bands arent even really obsessed with death, but theres nothing else for them to write about because then it wouldnt be true death metal.
