Psychology - June 2007

I work in customer service and deal with people of all ages and backgrounds. It is very noticeable that the older the customer, the more likely they are to be hateful, bitter, and overly demanding. I am not exactly young (50s) and see this in my parents also. They were always easy going, but now in their 70s, they have grown very pessimistic and bitter.

I have observed this alot and also talked to diffrent people even my female co-workers. They almost agree with me. Few days back i got the chance to see the Miss Universe contest, but i didnt see any depth in that competition also. I think every human being is made by God with different speciality but why women is considered to look and to expose herself so she can get appreciation.

My fear of dying is.. disabling. I don't think anybody around me even knows the extent of it, because I am afraid to even mention that I am afraid of it.. that's how terrible it is. I don't even want to discuss it. When I think about it, I feel very hot and nauseous and feel like passing out. I just feel like.. What happens when I die and that's just.. it? I don't exist anymore? It's like.. so scary.. And I do somewhat believe in God, but, that's sometimes even scarier. And to me it doesn't make sense. I feel like God was just created to make people like me feel better and keep their sanity about dying. An afterlife is a helluva lot more appealing than nothing. Adds a point to our lives. But what if there isn't a point? It just seems.. too happily ever after, or convenient. I'm not asking to be saved or hear any speeches about how I should have more faith, I just want to know how to get rid of this fear. I think about dying at least three times a day every day of my life.

I was walking in a very old cemetery..and saw several tombstones of teens...there pictures were on their tombstones...this made me feel so sad....(I think that they passed away in the 1990's or later than this!)It was fairly recent!
Has this kind of thing ever happened to you,and what did you do when you saw these young people?
For me, it was a horrible stunning moment! I just said some small prayers for them..and told them that they were always loved! Still!
That is a hard harsh thing to have to know about or see...ya know?

I was break dancing last week and all of a sudden the tape stopped and it got eaten and stuck in my jam box. Then i tried dancing without music but i injured my legs and now im in a wheelchair for the next 9 months. Should i just row myself off a bridge?

IT IS MIXTURE OF ALL THINGS

i had appeared for entrance in technical universities this year
and i had cleared few........
but i was unable to clear some of famous and glamorous
universities entrance,universities having glamour of their own
i had worKED HARD TO CLEAR TJOSE EXAMS WITH ALL MY CALLIBER,YET I FAILED..........

i HAD met a 14 year old kid in the school prevous year only and he is very bright and intelligent and he is very curotical

i feel he studies like me,he also takes studies seriously and
once or twice i had helped him with studies............

i think WHEN I TELL HIM THAT I FAILED TO GET IN THOSE UNIVERSITIES,WHAT WOULD HE THINK OF ME

I AM DISSAPOINTED WITH MYSELF AND I DON'T KNOW WETEHR TO DROP THIS YEAR FOR PREPARING FOR THOSE UNIVERSITIES OR TAKE ADMISSION WHERE I AM GETTING

I am 20yr of age,currently unemployed and i think it has driven me into a state of depression,i am Qualified for lots of jobs but it just seams like luck is not on my side because i haven't been called for an interview not even once, my country is very small so i know for a fact that there is not many people who has the same qualifications and experiences as i have, however it kills my self esteem to see school drop outs and people who are not even close to having qualifications as i already have get the high paying jobs while i am stuck at home doing nothing, i enjoy journalism,networking and business management, i have certificates and diplomas with all the above listed,still no luck.i am at the point where i might just decide to join some gang and make money by other means.this is the last time i am asking for some advice so if anyone out there knows anyway,idea,schemes,or even online jobs that are not scams please let me know before,i trip out and do something i might regret.

Alright..*sigh*
Someone I love very much chews with their mouth open, speaks with their mouth full, etcetera..it drives me MAD. Its always bothered me though, because when I was only in the 6'th grade I told her that it bothered me a lot. Of course she didn't change..and she still does it. I can't eat dinner with her most of the time because of this and I usually lie and say that I'm not hungry so that I can skip out on sitting at the table and listening to her CHEW VERY LOUDLY. I mean it doesn't just bother me any more, it makes me feel like going on an angry blood thirsty rampage. Scary yes. I can understand where some of my frustration comes from however, because I have ocd. But she just won't change. I don't know what to do and I get massive headaches and exhaustion because of this problem. It's gotten out of control, and she knows that.

I wasn't sure where to post this question. Recently, I came down with a few symptoms of diabetes. Frequent urination and a dry throat (even a few new symptoms that I think are occuring). I am 90% positive that I have diabetes, and I am going to get my blood and urine test tomorrow. That's the only possibility my doctor brought up as well. All I ever wanted to do was serve in the military; I was so dead set on it that I disregarded any other fall back career. Now I have no idea what to do. I didn't care about money, or even my life after the service. All I wished for was a chance to serve. I almost feel as though it is unfair, even though it isn't. All of these healthy people that would find the thought of joining rediculous end up happy and jovial, while I was willing to put myself in a position to die just to be in the military. I didn't want to join for patriotism, I had always and only dreamed of being a soldier. Today was the first time I cried in years.

But I heard this really disapointing story about this guy who said studying psychology landed him in working in a restuaurant as a manager. My friend says it's her "flaw" and everyone is flawed (basically saying there's nothing she can do about it)...I think I'm going to have to end our 10 year friendship b/c of this. Do you think someone like this would ever change?
