I heard a song this morning that I haven't heard in years and it immediately triggered memories and emotions of the time when the song was originally being played. Why does music evoke such strong emotions and bring to the surface memories, good and bad, that we tend to forget over time?

I am trying to give up smoking after 25 years of it.
Today is my first day,i am taking nicotine lozenges and have been chewing gum like mad all day.
I'm just about ready to start climbing the walls now.

like a pervert in front of the friend. insulting, swearing, yelling, molesting, controling, manipulating, names calling, unsettled, lack of inhibtion.....of course, at the same time telling you that you are important and sometimes really nice so to confuse you

in front of the others, including girlfriend....mature, charming, interesting, considerate, scholar....

is it strange? abusive husbands do not normally abuse a friend. do you still call that abusive relationship or abusive friendship??

At the risk of sounding as dumb as Sherri Shepherd, how come if you don't stand on your head, all the juice you drank doesn't come falling out of your mouth? If it goes down when you dump it down your throat, it oughta come back up when you stand on your head, but it doesn't. I just don't get it? There must be something that doesn't trap it when it comes down but then traps it from getting out which doesn't make much sense to me

hi all,
my ex and i broke up because he was always working and he never had time for me. we broke up about 2 years ago. after we broke up he would always keep in touch till this day. he calls me like every 3-4 weeks to see how i am doing? also, when he calls he wants to hang out and everytime i hang out with him we end up kissing (no sex) just kissing,,,so its not a booty call...im trying to figure him out..what does he want from?? does this make any sense at all?? cause im so confused as to why he hooks up with me when we hang out but we r not together...ive been dating other guys after him and i know that hes been dating other girls after me...i need help trying to figure this out??? im gonna ask him whats on his mind, but before i do this i just want everyones opinion...im curious

mit to our obvious limitations? We will be able to travel to other planets and return to say whether we found life there. We will never be able to travel to a place of life after death and return to tell of it. Shouldn't we admit that we can never know the latter, and stop building religions based on things that were invented in our imaginations?
(That includes things that we imagine when we are dying, and may remember if they manage to revive us.)

I have a friend who claimed he could correctly guess the month anyone was born just by looking and talking with them. I took him someplace where he knew nobody (at least not very well) and sure enough he was able to guess the month that each person was born each time. How is he ablet o do this?

A majority of their workers are on government assisted aide such as Medicaid and food stamps has the government not stepped in? They have sweat shops all over the world to make products the government knows this. I just got finished watching Walmart the cost of low prices thats why im so ticked off! Sometimes, I just get upset for the dumbest reasons, and I don't even mean to cry but the tears just come out. Today in my MUN (model united nations) class, I had to give a speech, but when I got up there with my notecard, the teacher told me that I couldn't use notes. I hadn't memorized my speech and tears just started leaking down my face as I told him I couldn't do it. Now, I'm really embarassed because I cried in front of the whole class and I hate myself for crying in public. I'm not a cry baby, the tears just came out. How do I stop them? I sat down at my seat and I couldn't stop for a few minutes either. I felt so stupid just sitting there crying. I even tried holding my eyes open to stop crying, but that just made it worse. Does anyone know how to stop crying?

Please only answer if you have a serious answer. I do not need anyone calling me a crybaby.

How many of you out there have deliberatly given someone a mean answer because you felt that the question itself was too stupid to be taken seriously? I am not talking about being vulgar without reason, just that the question was so trivial that it did not warrant being taken seriously?

my life seems to be getting more boring with every breath i take and need to spicen it up as a whole.

does anyone have any tips or ideas of things i can do to make my boring life more interesting?

i am 23 and doing a part time masters course 2 days a week, so i have a lot of time on my hands.

when the worlds economy collapses and we have used up all the worlds natural resources, all the nations are at war, are we destines to return to the dark ages?
will we all live in mud huts and have to walk everywhere?

will we revert to wearing grass skirts and fishinf with our hands?
will the answer still be its not fault, i needed that holiday in the seychelles, i needed my 6litre BMW 4x4 (its very hilly in essex), i needed a tv, dvd player etc in every room in my house?
