I would stay yes. But I would make sure I was taking something in the evenings that I enjoyed so I could look forward to it at the end of the day. In fact, I'm kind of in the same situation as you and I signed up for a painting class. Money is what pays the bills and puts food on the table and it's not going to get cheaper. You have to balance out your life.

It would depend on why I hated the job and how generous the salary was. Remember that your own actions can make a difference in how you feel about a job. Is the problem due to your attitude, for example? If the job is simply boring, you might be able to find ways to make it more interesting and challenging for yourself by being creative and proactive. If you dislike your boss or coworkers, you might be able to find common ground or new ways of relating to them. But if you dislike your job because it requires you to do something you object to morally or spiritually, then no amount of money is worth that. The deciding factor for me would be if I felt so sapped or depressed after I left work that I couldn't enjoy my leisure time as a result, or if I had feelings of dread or fear about going to work.

If it was just me I had to worry about...no, I wouldn't stay. But I'm not the only one my salary supports. I also have a chronic illness that necessitates GOOD medical benefits, so that's a consideration as well.

Fortunately, although the job I have wouldn't ordinarily be my first pick career-wise...I love what I do, the pay is good and I have excellent healthcare benefits. I'm very lucky!!

when you make a genourous salary which you and your family enjoy then why you should hate it , if you really love your family we are all living one or the reason for our family and our ownself only , instead of hating the job and drawing the generous salary and doing a hate it is better to love the job and do it with good faith for the sake of your family and yourself

I know money doesn't matter, and that's why I would consider choosing a different job. HOWEVER, I know that money matters when you need to food to put on the table, bills to pay, etc.

So yeah, in the end, I'd probably stay. Work is like school. It sucks, but you do it 'cause you have to.

i would stay. but if you absolutley hate your job, then start looking for another one. find a job with a good salary that you like, then quit the one you hate.

Your question reminds of something I read.....essentially, if your work provides for what you really love (in this case, skiing on the weekends) then you have a great job. I think that's a little shallow but it is one of your considerations. I would prefer to love my work and STILL enjoy my weekends. In your case, you might look ahead to where the job is taking you and compare THAT to where else you might be happier. Perhaps, your boss should be involved (but some bosses can be so shallow that they might fire you for disloyalty -- if your boss qualifies for THAT leave him/her out of your equation.)

Maybe, I'd always keep my eye out for a more enjoyable job though. And I'd be sure to do things I love on my time off.

No. Life is too short to be unhappy. I would be aware of the drawbacks (stress, ill health, loss of happiness) and it would prove too much for me. I would have to quit and find something that made me happy and thus, the people around me happy as well.
