I think love is just a physical attraction, which we cover up and give it names like "romance" to make it seem "divine". Because our puritanical society and religion have taught us that sex is a sin.
It's an uncontrollable attraction, which some interpret as "love at first sight" or "the one". Tell me, how many times have you fell in love with an ugly or ordinary guy at first sight?
I think what unites two spouses is understanding, commitement, physical attraction, good sex and mostly children, and not that fictional thing called "love". Can you prove me wrong?

I have seen many questions on these. I gather it's a promise to propose at a future date. How many more excuses for relationship jewelry do we need?

I'm waiting for someone to come out with a pre-promise ring, in which someone vaguely indicates that he will promise to propose.

I'm working on a group project for a colleger interpersonal communications course. We need to address a particular statement, by choosing a side and arguing our premise. My question to address is: The ultimate goal of every human being is to establish and maintan an intimate relationship with another person.

I will be debating against this viewpoint, under the premise that one can have a blessed, passionate, and fullfilling life w/o "having" to have a deep and personal emotional bond with another. I've done the research and can back up my views/arguments against pyschologist's theories, but I would also like to incoporate examples of successful loners into an activity.

Can anyone think of someone (w/in the last, say, 100 years max!) that was/is innovative, involved, or living life to the fullest but is not "certifiable" or has not simply just had a string of truly disasterous relationships??

If you look at Google maps, and you go farther out from the central city and into the exurbs you see even more abandonment of the grid system . Not that the middle and inner suburbs have a grid system, it's just their roads seem more connected.

This was a Survey study and the above statement is my research question. If I have 6 nominal variables (program type, sex of respondent, frequency of viewing, program times, individual programs, & number of persons in the room), and one dependent variable (consumer's ability to recognize advertised and non-advertised products), how do I change my variables so they can be measured and what type of test or analysis would I use?

What's with those words?
Why can't people be a little more intelligent and stop using those terms to define a person? No one wants to be called Black. No one wants to be called White. And if you really must define someone by their ethnicity, why not just define them by what country they are from, and not the color of their skin. This method of name calling is so primitive and childish it's simply pathetic. What are your thoughts on this?

In response to my babysitting flyer, he called. The first thing he asked was how old I was. He said he needed me to do an "all night" job. Told me he had three kids, and that I could meet them in his home. When I asked to meet him and his kids in public, he acted weird and said he couldn't "pack them all up" and he'd look for someone else.
There was some other weird stuff but I'll leave it at that for now.
He said his name was Andre Kerman, or Carmen.
I called the police but they said they couldn't even warrant an investigation.
I find it very disturbing. What can I do?
I have thought of partnering up with some other people, and have some trained person go in there pretending to be me and see what happens to her, with us waiting nearby in case something happened... I know this sounds crazy, but if it were true wouldn't it be worth it to prevent a real victim?

My pastor asked an interesting question. How much of what you know -- EVERYTHING you know -- do you know firsthand or because you have read it somewhere or other people told it to you? When you really think about it, it's kind of scary how little we really know firsthand. What do you all think?
