What's with those words?
Why can't people be a little more intelligent and stop using those terms to define a person? No one wants to be called Black. No one wants to be called White. And if you really must define someone by their ethnicity, why not just define them by what country they are from, and not the color of their skin. This method of name calling is so primitive and childish it's simply pathetic. What are your thoughts on this?

Face it, none of us are of any "pure" race, and skin color is an easy way to categorize.-
Why would you need that? As if being "categorized" by what country you're from isn't good enough.

Shawn-
You're saying that I make myself look like an "azz" when you clearly speak like a child. I know plently of people who are offended by being called Black or White, and just because you've never experianced it doesn't mean I haven't.

in terms of racism, it is a something that is taught not inherited.
in america, racism was a tool used by the southern white plantation owners - the wealthy class - to separate poor white southerners from african slaves. this was done by spreading fear of each other in an attempt to get the whites to turn in runaway slaves and the slaves to be afraid to try to escape in the first place. they would be caught by the poor whites so that the wouldn't try to escape in the first place. keeping the groups apart - or segregated - helped to keep them from discovering that their shared poverty meant they were more alike and different. the wealthy class was afraid that if they knew this, they would rise up and overthrow the wealthy.
since a lot of people thing - wrongly - that you must be smart to be wealthy, they believed the wealthy and, over the generations racism and the division of 'black & white' became a social norm.
hopefully some generation will see this for the control mechanism it is a.nd realize that it is a lie told by the wealthy to keep from having to share their wealth.
not only is it childish and pathetic, as you say, it is also ignorant and dangerous.

Ah, political correctness at it's dumbest. Why does it matter? Some folks are white, some folks are black. Neither are anything special. What's wrong with being black or white? If you want to get technical, I'm a Native American-Scottish-Irish-German-American. Now isn't that a bit pointless? Face it, none of us are of any "pure" race, and skin color is an easy way to categorize.
And to the black girl who says she doesn't have equal rights to whites: you're right, you have more rights. The victim and race cards are wayyyyyyyy overplayed honey.
To answer your second question, would you prefer we call all blacks Africans and all whites Europeans? Even those who are Americans by birthright? That makes no sense whatsoever.

I hope it's not name calling.I don't think of it that way. Using those terms:black, white-is like using man, woman, ....
It's really not nice to talk about people behind their back anyway! So if it's done, I hope they're saying something nice.

And what planet are you from. There is no predjudice in determining that a person is black, white , hispanic , or what ever. You say use their country, how do you do that, what about a white person from south africa is he an african, how do you know hat country their from. To assume a black person is from Africa is profiling and that is racist.
