Why do companies keep making the original version of their product after they start making the extra strength? Why would anyone buy the inferior, weaker product?

Nowadays, people are growing more and more wealthy, so wealthy, in some cases, that they are consumed with greed (we all remember Ebenezer Scrooge). But the monthly taxes (and yearly income) are getting higher and higher, and for some people, a large income cannot cover all the taxes. If this keeps up, we may all soon have an income that is similar to that of Bill Gates or Donald Trump or Oprah Winfrey yet we still may not be able to keep up wth the rising taxes. So I ask you:
In how many years will someone with a yearly income of $1,000,000 be considered poor?
I'd say in about 20-30 years, but I'm not a psychic: I can't recieve premonitions of the future, or of the future minimum wage.

for example in third world countries often those in charge will use it to get money and power and abuse the position. instead of trying to repair the system, they just walk all over everyone else for thier own greed.

The following quote appeared in a recent Wall Street Journal article:
Over the years Federal Reserve officials have grappled with what they call the ‘mirror’ problem. When central bankers look at interest rates set in financial markets are they looking at investors’ independent judgments about the economy or are they simply seeing investors’ interpretation of the Fed’s own words? Today the Fed is clearly not looking in a mirror. Officials repeatedly say they’re worried about inflation, then watch the markets ignore their admonitions and price in Fed interest rate cuts.
Note: Currently, yields to maturity in markets for US Treasuries range from 5.06% on the 6 month T-bill, to 4.85 % on securities maturing in 1 year, 4.72% on securities maturing in 1.5 years, 4.63% on 2 year securities, 4.53% on securities maturing in 3 years, and 4.48% on 5 year Treasury notes.)

Based on these rates, what is the implied 6 month T-Bill rate 1 year from now?

I mean obviosuly most of americans, canadians, europeans are born in countries where they don't have so many problems getting a good job or lifestyle, but if you go to some place like Africa, you will realize that the life there is pretty different and that a lot of people who are actually spending a lot of $$$ in big mansions, expensive clothes, cars and unnecesary things (not really "essentials to life") don't even think that they acually could save a life with all that money.
