how much are cigarettes in your area? AND, do you think the price raise will cut down on smokers, or be continuously purchased, regardless of price (like gasoline)

You're getting off cheap. Here in Ontario, they're about 10.50 a pack. I think more and more people are quitting, not because of the price, but, because of the health concerns. I think it's preventing younger people from starting, they just can't afford it.

In Engalnd and the rest of the British Isles
£5.30 - £5.80
That's about 80% more expensive.
Marlboro cigarettes are the same all over the globe. Benson's and Hedges are not.
In the British Isles for most people cigs or fags as we also call them will be continuously purchased like petrol (gasoline).
For some poor they have to give up, low paid jobs here are £5.30 an hour and unemployment pay £50 per week + your rent.

cig are a drug and is very addictive no matter what the cost those who are addictive to them will pay at any cost its just like the rising price of gas u needed no matter what.
