Anthropology

I'm an anthropology student. Anthropology major, and anthropologist. we try to find out why things are happening and look at the culture. If we would study the Sunni and Shiite cultures, understand them both, then find a solution of peace, and include them, then I think there can be peace over in Iraq.

why do asian people have slanted eyes? This question has to do with evolution. I understand why African/black are dark because they need skin that does not burn in the sun. white people are lighter because they live in a colder region.

Wondering why we have different races? I know we all started in Africa so does that mean all ancesters were dark skinned? was it just that a group of light skinned people went to Europe...a group that look like chinese went to the east? Is that how it worked out...it just seems to far fetched?

ithink i have and i was in a war in or around the 1800's i have memories of street sewers and wounded solidiers i think i was one myself(a solidier...not a sewer) and get feeling of pity for the crying children...i remember a bible black sky...dont know why....

I have a friend, Luke ,whom I have just recently grown closer to. He is african american, he goes to Stanford University, he dresses very well, he's funny and basicaly a wonderfull person. He has been seeing this very nice woman, who happens to be white. The problem is that her mother just recently met Luke. At first her mother was excited to meet him. After all her daughter had just said she was dating a Stanford student, but she did not tell her mother Luke is african american. When her mother found out he was african american she became angry at her daughter. She does not want her daughter to date a "******" is what she said, right in front of Luke. Luke told me what she had said when he came over the other night. I couldn't tell how he felt about that. He did not want to continue to talk about it. I'm white I've never had to deal with racism aimed at me. I don't know what he is feeling or how to help. Advice?
