I've heard people say that being a cynic means that you're usually a person who analyzes and thinks. That you're a person of caution. But my question is, when does being a cynic mean you're a educated, smart-aware person? Or a foolish arrogant, hard-headed know it all? How do you find that line? I'm a cynic myself and often wonder when I do cross that line. How much do I really know? And I'm not cynical because I hate people! complete opposite.

How do you know?

Thoughts?

I am a student up in the North and I feel very depressed when the winter comes because of the extended darkness. I live where there will be only 4 hours of day light in the middle of the winter (I am in Norway). I had experienced one winter last year, which was horrible. I want to avoid depressions this time. Is there anyone out there who can tell me what to do to avoid or decrease depressions?
Thanks.

The above is quote from a feminist I have engaged via email. Here it is in it's fuller context (to save the claims i'm taking it out of context).

"Firstly men don't ALWAYS have to pay and women don't ALWAYS get custody. These are things that we 'think' always happen when actually they don't. Family courts are specialist courts set up to focus on children's wellbeing and they work quite well in this country. Cases are heard and tried on a case by case basis and what happens is that factors which contribute to gender identities mean that men and women are more likely (because of how they are brought up and who they are) to have certain outcomes in terms of custody or whatever. It's no coincidence that the family court is the only place where women appear to have the upper hand (in terms of custody etc)......it's extremely important for this sexist society for women to remain the key childcarers!"
One moment she says "it's not happening" then she says "it must happen".
Equality? ;o)

How much could a therapist make an hour if the therapist has an LCSW? What are the drawbacks of having your own private practice? How difficult is it dealing with insurance companies who pay most or all of the bill for the client? Many MSW's work for agencies instead of opening up a private practice, what is the reason for this?Could you also include what state you are from. Thanks!

Every morning I wake up exhausted because I've had about 5 different dreams. These range from silly work related stuff to fantastical magical lands that are surreal. I love my dreams but I sometimes feel worn out when I wake up.

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm a sound sleeper who gets 8hrs a night, not under stress and can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. why do I feel tired?
