I'm French. Our unemployment rate is probably one of the highest in the western world... French politics (left and right wings) say that the French social model is the best ever. Though, young french people are immigrating to the US and the UK to find a job. I've lived in Poland and I saw a lot of Polish people willing to emigrate to the UK or even to America, but never to France, because "France is a losy country".

Why France has became in 20 years such a meaningless country?

Are you, Americans and Brits, aware that our economy looks exactly like it was in USSR?
I'm curious about your opinion.

And, please, don't laugh at my english. I'm trying hard. We're not only sure that our model is the best, we also think that speaking foreign languages isn't really helpful since France is the greatest country on Earth, besides Cuba... Sorry.

I enjoy being barefoot so much but I have a very unnatural fear of being barefoot around other people the other day my brother was coming up the stairs to our room and my heart was beating I had to quickly put my socks back on . What do I do whenever theres no one in the room I take my socks off but I'm always in a panic incase someone sees.

I don't have ugly feet/foot problems etc

Help me how do I get rid of this fear!!!

For the last three nights I have had dreams that are very similiar. I want to know what they might be telling me?!! My first dream; both of my children were being murder and I was trying to save them, but couldn't. The second dream was similiar except my children were being murdered by someone I knew and I didn't try as hard to stop the murder. My dream last night was only my youngest was murdered and I wasn't even there. The other thing that made this one different was I woke up in the middle of the night and I thought she was standing right next to me reaching for me and I tried reaching for her. Of course she wasn't there it is the middle of the night and I was not dreaming any more. Can someone Please tell me what these dreams MIGHT be telling me???

Socially (and that includes economically) the world is undergoing a transition. It is often stated that the world's resources cannot sustain a China or India, for example, with the economic prowess of the United States. Familiar phrases that are thrown around are "energy crisis" and "environmental crisis". It would seem, however, that the fundamental issue that is common to all these social crises is huge demand relative to resource supply. This leads some people to contend that the REAL issue is global overpopulation.

On the other hand, without a growing population developed countries cannot continue the process of innovation which generates increased economic efficiency and developing countries may not have the intellectual resources (smaller pool) to grow, as well. Furthermore, outside of a single country (such as China), it is difficult to enforce population controls.

The question then is: Is the real problem globally overpopulation and if so, how can we fix it?

Languages of various regions have similarities, the proof of this is the Mediterranean languages of French, Italian and Spanish. All of these have Latin as there root language, the language that they came from.

Recent discoveries have shown that humans have travelled around the globe from one central point taking their language with them, and over time it evolved with their society into the great many languages that we have today.


So my question is, Is there a root language from which all other languages arise? Does it survive today? And if we heard it would we recognise it or parts of it?

AND

Would this root language, being the oldest one on the planet, hold the key our collective history, have the ability to end racism, etc?


Please explain your answers.

Wait a minute, a small percentage of men do these things. Thanks so much for your email reply. I have been so busy. I am taking a quick break at work to reply to you. I certainly hope your neck area is getting better! Having a spasm in that area can ruin your day, you never realize how much you use your neck until it’s hurt.



Your commentary about being without cats is quite humorous. But, I hope you are not feeling lonely without them. It is good that you no longer have that annoyance factor though.



The house is shaping up well. The landlord/repair people have not shown up yet, to my knowledge. With the help of Nessa, yesterday we shredded 10 years worth of cancelled checks. That was a fun activity for her, and was nice to be rid of more packrat stuff. Just have a few more cabinets to go through and some filing to do.



Have some more stuff to do tonight since I don’t have Nessa with me. Maybe we can chat later if possible. Miss you much!

My teacher gave me a 75/100 on my paper in Mexico U.s. borderlands class. I never get C's.... it's 25% of my grade, this book report. My college gpa is 3.97 and I came here on scholarship, and I only have one quarter left and why is he doing this to me? Why does he hate me?
My parents brought me up to something from nothing. My dad works 40+ hour weeks even though he has lots of health problems to put me through college and I tried so hard, and I got a scholarship for having good grades and being a Mexican/Asian minority so why does my teacher want to go and ruin things for me? OK. This is almost completely against my disposition but I once asked this question to a young group of students when I taught at the university. Thought it might make for a fun question here.

Suppose you were a superhero like Superman. Unlike Superman, however, you don't have a day job. You need to earn a living being a superhero. How much would you charge to save a single large city (say, New York) from destruction by a supervillain? If you don't thwart the supervillain's efforts, one million people will die.
