I usually wake up due to an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, so I usually only sleep 3-4 hours a night. Its been going on all my life, but its gotten worse since my boyfriend dumped me. I usually got lonely and thought "well, at least he loves me." But now I don't even have that to fall back on. My friends don't know about this. They think I'm just a night-owl or an insomniac. They make fun of 'emo' kids and I fear that they'll make fun of me if I even bring it up.

I usually fall asleep daytime at my house, my uncle and my grandfather are up, and I hear their voices in my sleep (we are a loud family) and I'll sleep all day, just as long as I hear someone (that isn't the television) talking and moving around.

Is there a name for this? Is it depression? I don't feel depressed... just very lonely. Is this normal?

How can anyone say that a fetus is not a human being? It's a stage of human developement as much as infancy, or adolescence. The issue is not "pro-life" and "pro-choice." It is about the murder of that fetus. Should a woman have the right to kill her children?

I'm right now in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates and despite this country being an Islamic nation, prostitution and human slavery racket is a stark reality - compelling stories of misery that will fill your heart with pain which puts places like Bangkok and Amsterdam far behind.

Last night saw something terrible, I was in a famous nightclub outside Radisson hotel - as the late hour ticked in - all patrons were asked to leave as some Sheiks with some burqa-clad women (they seemed to be MEN because of their tall heights) stepped in - however, it wasn't strictly enforced and some of us stayed back and nobody seemed to mind.

At around 2 AM, there was a lot of noise and commotion inside. I felt the urge to take a peep, and what I saw was a modern day version of Slavery - several young and underaged girls and some big women were being paraded almost naked in what seemed like an "auction" and there was a huge crowd inside (some 200 men) who were like groping and inspecting the cartel

(i.e. Were the originators of the Constitutional rule that our money should not be taken over by the Fed correct in assuming such results would be dire?)

(Please forgive the poor phrasing. If you think you understand the question, please answer it, or suggest a rephrasing.)

I'm sick of this. First of all there is a "man" in wo"man". This is a symbol of our second ratedness and oppression! But we all knew THAT.

The big problem with not qualifying what womyn's studies is about is a silent endorsement of allowing small penised little boys to come in here and give the womyn's doubts about our moral, ethical and altogether superiority! The reason for saying empowerwomynt over empowerMENt (disgusting!) is obvious!

So who's with me?

A 2005 United Nations report called for a doubling of foreign aid to poor countries as the means to reduce poverty. Yet the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to a for-profit microloan bank and its founder, an apparent vindication of the ideas of Peter T. Bauer, Henry Hazlitt, Deepak Lal, and others. As Bauer wrote, “Development aid, far from being necessary to rescue poor societies from a vicious circle of poverty, is far more likely to keep them in that state.…Emergence from poverty requires effort, firmly established property rights, and productive investment.
