you cant achieve happiness because happiness isnt a destination. happiness is a state of mind. it's independent of what you used to have or will have. happiness is taking in and absorbing everything around you and living in the moment. making the most of what you have now. not to say abandon yourfuture goals, but to live life every second and appreciating it and taking advantage of it. if u live every second to its fullest potential you will attract positive people like you. and connect.
you only live once right.

One thing I never stop loving is learning. So I read a lot of books about everything: art, culture, diversity, eskimos, women's issues, spirituality, etc. It changes my perspective. I'm reading this story about an eskimo woman and I feel like living in Alaska. I read about Mexican migrant workers and how they scrape for a living, and it wants me to live like them, frugal, counting every penny to buy bread and coke. Etc. Somehow, learning about different people and ways of living empowers me by bringing my mind into another realm. It also makes me a better friend (and relative).

There is actually a simple answer to that|
*Do not* pursue happiness as a direct goal.
So many people try to seek fulfillment *directly* - as our popular magazines and media tell us to|
The way to true happiness is to forget yourself in the right way, and do something that is important in itself|
Dedicate yourself to something that is other and higher than yourself, and happiness will find you|
And above all, treat all good people with dignity and respect|
See to their happiness and well-being, and go out of your way to help those who need your help|
But beware of the deceivers to pretend to be your friend or pretend to be interested in what is of true value| They only do that with an eye to despoiling you|

One can never attain or sustain an ongoing level of happinesss. You can develop a level of self awareness in which you can be both critical or positive about your various stengths or weaknesses, You can claim pride in conquering the smaller demons inside you and enjoy those spontaneous moments of happiness when they occur.
