We were all children once...and sometimes still are. If your parent beat you when you were young, why do you think that would happen?

As an observer of life, I see parents all the time with their children. Playing and hugging them. Those children knows no fear, because they have never been beaten. For the children that have been abused, it stays with them for a long time. And they still look for answers....do you have any?

My favorite life quote is "Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it." what is yours????

Im sure many of you have seen (or are) those drivers who seem to disregard the fact that they are driving a two ton machine at a high speed. This combination apparently presents people with the perfect time to fix their hair or do their make up. Also, it seems to be a rule that while doing such things, you must either drive dangerously fast and clumsily or ridiculously slow.

By far the worse thing I have seen was someone driving on the highway. He had all four lanes to himself. Why? I foolishly tried to pass him, only to discover that 1) He has the reflexes of a drunken monkey and 2) To him, there is absolutely no problem with eating cereal while driving. Knees are like second hands. Thankfully, there was a median for me to dive into, and he spilled milk all over his Jaguar. He gave me a good laugh, AND a finger!

So, what is the worse thing you have seen someone do on the road?

I just got interested in lucid dreaming and I thought of a dream I had a couple years ago. I was at school in the hallway in between classes. I thought "I'm dreaming, I can do what ever I want. I should just go jump on desks and say things to people that I wouldn't really say." But I had a tiny thought that what if it wasn't a dream. I don't remember doing anything after that. I know part of a lucid dream is realizing that you're dreaming, which I did, but I didn't really control what was happening and I wasn't 100% sure I was dreaming.

Sorrow can build up into something much more then any one person can handle. It'll come with no warning it could come today, or tomorrow it'll come with no rhyme, no reason it's your body's way of performing an act of treason. Sorrow can turn a man into a boy, a silhouette of what he once was. A silohette a simple, harmless being until sorrow gets ahold of it then it turns into a ruthless, hurtful monster hurting everyone and everything around it. Sorrow is like a cancerous tumor eating away at your soul slowly and painfully, until finally you find a release for your soul ventalation for your frustrationl; you yell, you scream, and you weep, and just when it seems everything is getting better sorrow comes back and slaps you in the face reminding you, you can't get rid of it.

i help him thru depression, suicide threats bc he got a one night stand pregnant before we met. I feel he layed a huge burden on my shoulders. I told him many times to seek prof help, but he wanted to talk to only me. Then when I help him come to terms with having a child, he ends our relationhip to pursue one with the mom. And I found this out when I was in the hospital., she called me, & then when I confronted him he told me never to call him again! They are not together shockingly. After, I figured he was confused and wanted to remain friends, but now he completely ignores me and I feel so hurt and used, and all I cant help but call him &leave messages& yell at him, deservingly so. I cant let it go and dont know what to do anymore. I am in therapy, &its just not right.I feel the whole suicide thing he layed on me got to me,& I cant understand how someone can possibly do this to another human being?I thought I knew him and he really valued me.Its been 6 months &i cant let the anger go.

It has come to my attention that Stephen R. Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" is now taught in Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. It's a kind of self help method, but who knows? I think the buzzword "proactive" came from this book. It's been around for a while, I think.

Has anyone as sceptical as I am found anything of value in this book, and why?
