I was born with limited hearing, so I can hear fine if I wear hearing aids, but I can barely hear anything when I am not wearing them. I don't wear my hearing aids when I'm sleeping, and I don't recall being able to hear anything in dreams. I can still dream of talking and stuff like I'll dream up a conversation with someone and stuff, but I dont actually feel like I'm hearing what the other person is saying; I just know what they're saying because its kind of me thats making them say whatever they are saying (sorry if that was confusing). Basically, I am not completely deaf and I can still hear (albeit softly), and I wear hearing aids which makes my hearing almost as good as most peoples, but when I'm in bed I take off my hearing aids so I basically dont hear anything since no one else is in the room with me. I was just wondering if people with normal hearing can actually feel the sound in their ears when they dream.

Just exactly why are men so much smarter than women? Is it something to do with brain structure? Hormonal differences? A combo of both, or something else completely?

I am only 16 and have recently posted my college applications. Although, I still have time to decide on what to aim towards, in terms of a degree, I have been researching on degrees, and anthropology appeals to me very much.

Before I came across anthropology, I had already decided on the A-levels I wanted to take; Philosophy, English Literature, Sociology, and Religious Studies (however, because not all colleges offer a religious studies A level, I am prepared to exchange it for Phsychology if I have to). It was after I had decided on these that i came across anthropology and realised all these subjects relate to it.

I would like to know what sorts of career prospects are available to those with anthropology degrees. I am asking these questions now because I need to know what to aim towards in order to be able to select my A levels accordingly.

I'm divorced and would like to meet a normal man but with a job and children do not socialise so thought online dating agencies would be good but most seem to have very geeky looking men. Ideally I'd like a man in his 40s, wealthy, intelligent and kind. Where would I meet someone like this or am I living a fantasy world? Should I just let things happen by chance and find love down the baked bean aisle in Sainsburys?

Oh my god if you're stressed or depressed or miserable or anything you really need to do this. You just need to get off the computer and get out of the house, go somewhere and have a day to yourself. Just go out, go shopping, and buy yourself something, and buy yourself some lunch or something. I had the best day. I took the SATS early in the morning, got out at one and went for lunch and shopping. It was great, I didn't have to see or think about my condescending assho le parents or my condescending assho le friends, I just got up early, took the test, rewarded myself by going shopping, going to the mall, buying myself lunch, buying myself a smoothie, and you talk to people and they arent condescending, they treat you like a normal person. Seriously, if you're miserable, get away from the computer and the people you know and just have a day for yourself. I haven't been this happy and satisfied in almost a year. Has anyone else ever had an experience like this? I have to do this more often. I feel like I can put things in perspective for the first time in months because for just a few hours I could get out of this cycle of anxiety and depression.

At a recent AA meeting, I reported to its members that I was sucessful in overcoming addiction to the drug alcohol by using conceptual logic, reason, and rationale thought. I also said that I used self-discipline to control unwanted behaviour. They immediately told me that I was a "dry drunk" and in denial. Is it forbidden in AA to use ones brain to change a problematic behaviour? If the brain is used to solve problems, is the result always negative as AA suggests?

After confronting me in a cloud of cigarette smoke while stating they are "clean" from drugs (cigarettes?), they told me to read the "big book".

What in the world is going on here?

I have read that if PETA had its way, there would be no hunting and fishing, no meat and dairy products, no circuses, and no use of animals in medical research, among a host of other things. What are your views? Do you believe this is an extremist agenda?

it's just so weird, how i get practically the same dreams everyday. does this have any kind of special meaning?

I dont know any man who minds a woman playfuly hitting him or wrestling with him .as long as the intention is to do no harm .

What i dont understand is the objectification of violence agianst men is so rampant .

There is adouble standard that if a women says something to anger man he should not hit her, fight her .( i agree men should not hit or hurt women )

However the reverse is not true . A man insulting a woman can allow for the women to perpetrate harm on a man physicaly

Are men becomming violence objects for womens rage ?

I just thought about this question the other day, As for the house that I would choose to be in, I would choose Gryffindor because I'm bold, and I would most like to be in the house that's prized for doing the right things like being loyal, and chivalrous. I'm brave enough too so Gryffindor sounds like the house for me. As for the house that I would NEVER choose to be in is Hufflepuff. I wouldn't want to be in Hufflepuff because constantly being around people who are cheerful, hard working and uncomplicated would tend to get on my nerves, I like to hang around people who'll take a chance, and stand up for their principals. The reason I didn't choose to not be in Slytherin was because everyone seems to think Slytherin is bad. If being clever, resourceful, ambitious and opportunistic is bad, then being blindly brave is just as stupid. I mean yeah, some Slytherins have been a little over the edge, but most of them aren't "evil" just a bit selfish is all.

I am trying to change the Western idea that 'time equals money' in a debate, but I can't think of many instances when it is not true. Except that the more time you spend making money, the more you spend, which in turn, leads you back to needing to make more time to make money to feed the cycle.
thanks all you philosophical people!:)
