I am new to this site but I noticed that there was a question a week ago about developing a on line resource for residential social workers who specialise in autism.

Would anyone like to join me in developing such a resource?

I work as a RSW2 in the UK and if there is anyone who works in this line who is interested and has knowledge of how to do this or is there anyone interested in joining, and also anyone who thinks its a good idea. or anyone who is not getting the help they need.

Do you think there is a need for this type of information?
Do you believe there is a need for this type of help and support?
How can it be done?

I had a difficult childhood with a personality disordered mother who later turned schizophrenic, and I developed Reactive Attachment Disorder as a child.

Now I find it extremely difficult to open up to people and receive love, and I do not desire physical proximity so much as other people do. I haven't had a sexual relationship despite being in my twenties but I've felt unrequited romance a number of times and I really desire to develop emotionally warm relationships, but I somehow keep applying my self-defense mechanisms unwantedly - maybe because I'm so much used to them. I also have a very low level of emotional intelligence.

How can I get a better control of my thoughts and emotions? How can I open up to people?

My ex could watch TV, cook a meal, talk on the 'phone and feed our son all at the same time!
If I am watching TV and the 'phone rings. I immediately have to switch off the sound, so that I can concentrate on what the caller is saying.....

I cant stand how some girls think that Halloween is the time of year to dress up like a skank. Halloween is supposed to be scary. Because of all the girls dressing up like this, they might as well rename Halloween to "Dress Like A Whore Day"! Who agrees?

My bud and I have a true "brokeback moutain" relationship. Its very special and we have a strong bond. We both have two different backgrounds. I'm like Jack and he Ennis emotionally. He's an asipring artist, and I am into business. Were in our 20's and he chose to move to Europe. He asked me if I want to go, I said sure I want to be close to him, but things changed when I got accepted for a masters program at a business school in the US. I decided to stay and finish up. Now I feel like 2 years of school seems to be a long time, I hurt everynight thinking about losing him. It was a choice of my future or the "rare, weird" feelings we both have for each other. So my question to you is, did I pick the right path here? Was I right to choose my future over my heart?
