Sound travels quicker through helium than air. This is what happens your voice passes through it. Apart from that, a hell of a lot of balloons full of it to get you up that high.

Enough to kill you. If you think I'm kidding, do a little research on the subject.
But, helium is NOT poisonous. It is very inert, and, therefore harmless. But helium is not air. It will not sustain life, so that if enough of your air is replaced by helium, you will suffocate. Those deep sea scientific research stations, where people live n them for a length of time, are maintained with atmospheres of about 70% helium, instead of the nitrogen present in normal air. This minimizes the scientists risk of injury when going thorugh the transition from the deep to open air, and back.

Helium is lighter than air, less dense, which is what causes the voice change. It does not do anything to change the vocal chords. The pitch after to whiffs of helium is as high is it will ever be. If you don't breath enough oxygen with it, you will pass out.

1. I don't think that would happen.
2. If you consumed that much helium, in an attempt to try that, it might have serious physical effects.

That wouldn't happen. Even if you breathed pure helium, we'd still hear you and laugh at your squeaky voice.
Helium is not poisonous at all. Mind you, breathe pure helium and you'll die of oxygen deprivation.

Helium doesn't make your voice higher. It changes the timbre, not the pitch so you can inhale as much as you like - we will still hear you.

well you won't be heard when you pass out and die from it!
(also, helium isn't poisonous, it's just that if you're breathing helium you're not breathing oxygen.)
