they are just animals same as any others but they hunt and eat meat, why dont they just do that without all that aggressiveness?

example of some aggressive predatory animals: crocodile, lions, tigers....etc

I've kicked around some ideas on designing experiments where sediment levels affect larvae population, just to give you an idea of what kind of project I might be interested in. I don't get it. Elephants go wild-well OK they ARE wild. Just now on Today Show-some guy attacked by a lion hmmm..we are like walking prime rib to lions. Then they kill the animal. What gives? Just leave them alone...
