1.) John and Mary Smith plan to put a wooden
fence around their yard in order to keep the
mean cats away from their dog Fido. There
is a gate that is 2.45 m long which is not
included as part of the length of the fence.
What total length of fence is required to
enclose a rectangular yard whose sides are
28.4 m and 34.4 m in length? 1 m = 3.281 ft .
Answer in units of ft.

2.
A billionaire offers to give you $4.9 billion if
you will count out the amount in $1 bills or
a lump sum of $4000. Assume that you can
count at an average rate of one bill per second,
and be sure to allow for the fact that you need
about 10 hours a day for sleeping and eating.
Which offer should you accept?
In order to answer this, how long will it take
you to count out the $4.9 billion? Answer in
units of years.

Okay so we know an asteroid is to hit Earth. (no math is needed) And it is of great mass we will say. So if it were headed on path to hit Earth. Could we divert the asteroid by simply flying a rocket next to the asteroid in order to disrupt the path of the asteroid? Now the physics says that there is an attractive force between any two objects. So by flying a rocket it would attract the asteroid and possibly move it by some small degree to not hit Earth. Now I am saying would an asteroid heading for Earth be able to be diverted by a rocket. Cause with such great distance away and just a small change in path and small target, it could easily miss the planet.

Now if this is possible, then the movie and all that other stuff is false that you must send someone out there to blow it up. Input please.

A ball with radius 0.1 m falls vertically downward while rotating with angular velocity, ω. The ball hits the ground at 10 m/s and bounces with the same vertical speed. The coefficient of friction, μ is 0.9 (same for static and kinetic friction).

What is the horizontal velocity of the ball after bouncing if:
i) ω = 400 rad/sec
ii) ω = 500 rad/sec?

The mass moment of inertia of the ball is
I = 2/5 * mr^2
m = 1 kg (if needed)

An automobile traveling 105 km/h overtakes a 1.50 km long train traveling in the same direction on a track parallel to the road.
1). If the train's speed is 75 km/h, how long does it take the car to pass it? in hr

2). How far will the car have traveled in this time? in km

3). What are the results if the car and train are traveling in opposite directions? in km

Please i really need to know how to do this and also please show the work Thanks :)

Two point charges are placed on the x-axis as follows: one positive charge q1= 4.01 nC is located to the right of the origin at .204m. And a second positive charge q2= 4.97 nC is located to the left of the origin at -.302m

What is the total force (magnitude and direction) exerted by these two charges on a negative point charge q3= -5.99 nC that is placed at the origin.

I keep getting 2.25 or 2.26 N but the computer says its not right . What am I doing wrong?

Was the Singularity a Quantum Egg? I believe that it was. Could it be that ALL life is just a parallel quantum duality, a universe unto itself? The universe got its start from submicroscopic quantum effects that resulted in an occurrence and sudden expansion along with a number of transition phase changes that accumulated in the universe we know today. Think about the evolution of your own life in the same sense. We all came from a microscopic happening---fertilization. We emerged through many physical phase transitions to become the people we are today. Interesting enough, the basic information about the essences of our being was in that embryo shortly after fertilization. Just like the essences of our universe was in those quantum effects at the moment of the big-bang. I believe that both lines of transitional phase linkages are traceable back to events at the singularity. Could our lives and our universe be explainable in some definite unitifed fashion?

After researching about Holograms, which led me to DNA, which led me to DNA experiments, I ran into an article I had to snope in regards to an alleged experiment that took place by a Russian Scientist i.e. Vladimir Poponin which goes as follows:

The first reported experiment was done by Dr. Vladimir Poponin, a quantum biologist Dr. Vladimir Poponin, with a Ph.D. in physics and another in mathematics from the Russian Academy of Science.

First a container was emptied, therefore creating a vacuum within it. Then, the only thing left were photons (particles of light); he measured the distribution or location of those photons and found they were completely random inside the container. This, of course, was the expected result.

But surprisingly enough, then some DNA was placed inside the container, and the distribution (location) of the photons was remeasured again, but this time the photons were lined up in an ordered fashion, aligned with the DNA.

Is this BS?

The problem then wants to know the magnitude of the resulting force on the charge at the origin. It wants the answer in nN.

I worked through the problem and found that the force due to the top charge to be a magnitude of 5.86942 nN and the magnitude of the force from the right charge to be 6.99032 nN, resulting in a net force of 9.12769 nN. I was just wondering if these numbers looked right?

I've heard about Absolute Zero and it sounds really cool. I know what it physically is: 0 K and something like -245 C.

I know some of the things that happen:
Superfluidity, superconductivity, and the air liquefies, is that right. And can someone explain that. I've also heard some rumors about anigravity.

How can the air liquefy? If we ever supposively reached Absolute Zero, would the air completely solidify? I'm looking for an expert.

Thanks!
