1. To solve this problem, you'll first need to find the total length of the perimeter in meters, subtract the length of the gate which will give you the fence length, then convert that to ft.

Ok, lets first start with the perimeter.

((2 x 28.4 m) + (34.4 x 2)) - 2.45 m = Fence length

(56.8m + 68.8m) - 2.45 m = Fence length

125.6 m - 2.45 m = Fence length

Fence length = 123.15 m

Now we'll use dimensional analysis to convert the length from meters to feet.

123.15 m x (3.281 ft / m) = Fence length

123.15 * 3.281 m*ft / m = Fence length

Meters will cancel out like a variable

404.06 ft = Fence length Final answer.




2. To do this we're going to have to use some dimensional analysis to solve this one. First we'll find out how many seconds are in a 14 hour period, because you'll be counting the $1 bills for that period in a day.

Now we can convert the number of here into years.

97222.22 days x (1 yr / 365.25 days) = Time to count bills

The days cancel out leaving yrs

97222.22 yr / 365.25 = Time to count bills

266.18 yrs = Time to count bills.

I'd say to take the $4,000 lump sum because you'll be dead before you're even half way through counting. Final answer.
