The scale of our understanding will always remain within the limits of our dimensions.
The paradox about "Big" is when it is too big, you can not see it.

Please develop and argument.

A woman on a bridge 77.0 m high sees a raft floating at a constant speed on the river below. She drops a stone from rest in an attempt to hit the raft. The stone is released when the raft has 6.50 m more to travel before passing under the bridge. The stone hits the water 3.10 m in front of the raft.

I was wondering what is the most accepted theory on what the shape of the WHOLE universe is? I have heard it is a globe shape much like a planet, I have also heard that if you were to look at it from a distance it is like a sheet of paper. And I have even heard that it is ever expanding in 360 degrees. Which is the most accepted?

What about with constant speed?

Theoretically, and if you were going slow enough, I'm sure you could keep your velocity and speed constant. Or am I missing something fundamental?

You are to drive to an interview in another town, at a distance of 350 km on an expressway. The interview is at 11:15 A.M. You plan to drive at around 100 km/h, so you leave at 8:00 A.M. to allow some extra time. You drive at that speed for the first 100 km, but then construction work forces you to slow to 55 km/h for 40 km. What would be the least speed needed for the rest of the trip to arrive in time for the interview?

(I have two answers to this question but I am not sure which is right, if you do answer please include your method for solving as well)

I've had this question since I was a kid. Many people including my teachers, have tried explaining it to me, but I just don't seem to get it.
The higher you go, the colder it gets; but we know that cold air is heavier than hot air, so hot air goes up and cold air goes down. So it ideally should get hotter the higher you go (in the atmosphere wherein the sun rays are partially trapped).

A rabbit is running on a straight line with velocity v=2m/s. A wolf is lying 40m from the line .The moment the rabbit is 40m far from the wolf , the wolf realizes it and starts to pursue it with v=2m/s .After 40 seconds, what is the minimum distance between them?

This is what I did:

displacement= Velocity x time--> 2 m/s x 40 s= 80 m

this is for the rabbit since it runs at a constant velocity throughout the run/chase

The wolf however starts from rest than accelerates to 2m/s and pursues rabbit therefore
displacement= avg. velocity x time= Vi+Vf/2 x time= 0+2m/s /2 x 40 s= 40 m

The minimum distance between the wolf and the rabbit after 40s is 80m-40m= 40m

The answer is not 40 meters and I don't know what else it can be. Please help!
