A wooden cube "just floats" inside water when a 200gm mass is placed on it. When the mass is removed the cube is 2cm above the water level. The side of the cube is_____cm.

I know the answer is 10cm, But please show the process (along with explanation)

For example, an electron can occupy multiple places, until we look at it, then, as in the double slit expierment, it chooses just one.

Im open to the possibility that I misunderstand the Heisenberg Uncertianty Principal, lol.

Anyway, I would like to have all the atoms in this $100 bill be in both my pocket and my wifes pocket at the same time. Why isnt this possible?

ok they say you cant go the speed of light because you would become infinite, thus you would need infinite energy.
However if you were on a ship and got to the speed of light wouldnt your fuel source(being with you at the point you went light speed) alo become infinite no matter how little you had left?

( 2 is power of x and it is small not capital number)

If you pay attention when looking at water dripping on a smooth surface, you'll see a small percentage of the bubbles produced on impact are different; they are brilliant silver and shoot at high speed away from the impact point. You get more if the water is a little soapy so you might see them when washing the car. The 'bubbles' appear to have water inside them instead of air. I'm not sure of the mechanism of how they're formed. Any thoughts?

If the use of a cold air intake modification on a combustion engine in an automobile helps improve power and gas mileage, would introducing a small- med.-lg. amount of compressed oxygen give the same result?
Anyone who's used an oxy-acetylene torch knows that acetylene alone isn't capable of cutting anything until you turn on the oxygen.
Is the principle of the cold air intake mod that colder air is denser and since oxygen excites combustian the fuel/air mixture is more volatile?
Why does nitrous oxide boost horsepower so much?
Aside from the obvious modifications needed to introduce oxygen into the air/fuel mixture and possible motor component strengthening, what mods would be required to make this work (if at all), ie.- timing, cam, valves, pistons, compression ratio, etc.?

At one instant the center of mass of a system of a two particles is located on the x-axis at x=2 m and has a velocity of (5.0m/s)i. One of the particles is at the origin. The other particle has a mass of 0.10 kg and is at rest on the x-axis at x=8.0. What is the mass of the particle at the origin? Total momentum? Velocity of particle at origin?

I have no clue how to solve this. I tried to use xcm = m1+v1+v2*m2..../m1+m2....
and got
m1=(0,0)
m2=(2,0)
m3=(8,0)

xcm= m1*(0)+(2)m2+.10(80)/m1+m2+.10

but then i have to many unknown values to solve for m

When measuring resistance on resistor or even potentiometers, true resistance deviates from listed resistance. A 10K Ohm, may in fact be 9.9999 K Ohm, as opposed to true 10K.

The bigger picture of a deviation from true Pi is perhaps the travel of an electron in an atom. If wave particle duality is true in that everthing behaves as a sine function, how do we know that absolutely, all forces and matter revolve in a true pi?

A car going in a circle deviates greatly from pi, the path it takes (let's say, pi as 3.14 per whatever measurement). Whilst an electron orbiting protons and neutrons perhaps follow a more precise orbit (say, Pi to one billion places).

Now if electrons deviate from a true pi path, how do we know that with the concept of wave duality, this does not affect all other things in the bonded chain that makes our universe?

you are trying to lose weight by working out on a rowing machine. each time you pull the rowing bar toward you, it moves a distance of 1.2m in a time of 1.5s. the readout on the display indicates that the average power you are producing is 82w. what is the magnitude of the force that you exert on the handle?

Hi,

so the problem is a 30 g marble ball which moves to the right with a speed of 0.200 m/s and a 10g ball coming from the right. with a speed of 0.4 m/s. They collide and I want to find the velocity after they collide. I got this far

mv1+mv2=mv1f+mv2f
0.03*0.2+0.01*-0.4 = 0.03v1f + 0.01v2f
0.002=0.03v1f + 0.01v2f

then i used
v2f-v1f = -(v2-v10)
v2f-v1f = -.6

then i solved for v2f and substituted it into the first equation.
.002 = 0.04v1f+0.01 (-.6 +v1f)
...
v1f=.2

v2f= -.6+.2 = -.4

those final velocities are wrong they should be -0.1 and 0.5 and also i think v1f should have been negative cause it is going in the opposite direction after the collision. I'm not sure what i did wrong but i really appreciate any help.
