A particle of mass m can move freely on a horizontal frictionless surface. It is connected by a spring to a fixed point which can pivot freely; the spring is of natural length L and spring constant k. If the particle undergoes circular motion given by polar coordinates:-

R = P0 and theta = wt

where P0 and w are constants.

Q1. write down the equation of motion of the partical and find the equilibrium radial coordinate P0 in terms of m,k and w.

Q2. If the particle is made to undergo small radial perturbations to this equilibrium: R = P0 + z with theta = wt, derive an equation for the time dependence of z and hence show that if k >w^2, the particle unergoes radial oscillations and find their period.

I really don't know where to start with these questions, I understand the circular motion but don't know how the spring affects it.

Cumulative action anti-tank missile consists of two blocks

When missile moving with speed Va = 500 m/s

its characteristic frequency. Since nothing is causing air pressure, forcing air into the whistle, it must be that the energy to sound the whistle is taken from the initial impetus of the arrow. The loss of energy must produce an effect similar to an increase in drag, or air resistance.

How much less distance is the arrow likely to travel than a similar arrow (equal mass) fired without a whistle?

Will it be noticeable? Or insignificant?

do you tend to sink and must work harder to stay on the surface (because you are denser than an equal volume of water under the reduced gravity)?

If Black holes are theorized to bring time to a stand still or close to it, consider the effects of the entire universe just after the point of singularity.

Could the time between singularity and the grand unification epoch have lasted for some other length of time? ex 1 trillion years.
