If Black holes are theorized to bring time to a stand still or close to it, consider the effects of the entire universe just after the point of singularity.

Could the time between singularity and the grand unification epoch have lasted for some other length of time? ex 1 trillion years.

You are taking things out of context. Time changes relative to a certain frame of reference to different objects that, while it is possible for them to start from the same time and place, one can experience great velocities and /or great gravity fields relative to the "other", that does not. In these cases a sort of time displacement wil occur.

Modern theories don't accept that a singularity existed. This affects and affects of gravity are all included in the calculations. Plus the temperature for the background microwave radiation is a very good indicator.
