A ball is thrown at an angle of 53 degrees above the horizontal off the roof of a building with an initial speed of 15 m/s. Find the position and velocity of the ball at 1.0s, 2.0s and 4.0s after it was thrown (ignore air resistance) (x- components are horizontal y components are vertical)

What is the x, y, Vx, Vy and V for the ball at 1.0s, 2.0s and 4.0s

I used equation V=at+Vo to solve for V and X-Xo=.5(V+Vo)t to solve for x.

I got 9m/s for Vox, 12m/s for Voy, ax = -9.8m/s^2 and ax= 0m/s^2

Time = 1.0s, x = 9m, y = 7.1m, Vx= 9m/s, Vy =2.2m/s and V = 15 m/s

Time = 2.0s, x = 18m, y = 4.4m, Vx= 9m/s, Vy =-7.6m/s and V = 15 m/s

Time = 4.0s, x = 9m, y = -15.2m, Vx= 9m/s, Vy =-27.2m/s and V = 15 m/s

I have to calculate the force exerted by a moving object on a clamp. Force = Mass X Acceleration. the weight of the body is 10kg (weight!! not mass). distance travelled is 200 cm. time of travel is 2 seconds. I can calculate speed, how to calc acceleration?

I am looking for an approximation here. I am assuming that the temperature change will be affected by the total surface area of water exposed to the warmer air.

I have a clear plastic container. It holds approximately 9 L of water. It is approximately cylindrical, maybe 30 cm in diameter

The water will be exposed to air at the top of the container.

I am also assuming that the starting temperature of the water will be approximately 2-5 C, and will finish at 22 C.

Can the specific heat of water be used to calculate the time needed?
What is the time needed to warm the water?
What is the physics and mathematics behind the solution?

I've studied both calculus and physics, but it has been so long that I can't remember how to do a calculation like this.

* I heard today 2/3/07 in the arabic BBC news that sample of perfumes could be smelled via the internet for its advertisement in the near future.
*I thought about this idea months ago, But I decided it couldn't be, as the smell particals & molecules, which ther are tangeable should be transferred at the speed of light through wires & wireless waves.
***So I don't believe that will be satisfied.
** Imagine a galic advertisement smell may come out of your computer smell!! very stupid idea , isn't it?

I have heard plenty of good, valid and scientific reasons why people don't believe the official conspiracy theory regarding 9/11 (the one about 12 crazy Muslims outsmarting the entire US air force).

But I have yet to hear any good reasons as to why people support this theory. Have you actually read the 9/11 Commission Report, or are you just swallowing whatever your government feeds you without even looking into the facts?

Which one do you belive more: Your government, or the laws of physics as established by Isaac Newton?

Remember, no "pancake-theory" can explain a building (WTC 7) collapsing at free fall speed.

So how do you justify your strong stance against the laws of gravity? And if the government told you the earth was flat, would you believe that too?

in fission reaction i learnt that mass of reaction will always be greater than product,but here by calculation mass of product is greater ,why is this so.and plz tell me why energy equivalent to mass defect is always alpha particle energy why not other elements like nitrogen and oxygen

If earths curvature of its surface is 7.98 inches per mile. How can we see a boat that is 20 feet high go over the horizon and dissapear if that boat would have to be about 30 miles away to be able to see it dissapear. *btw my math might be off* also it depends on how far the human eye can see at sea level. If anyone knows how far the human eye can see in such conditions that would help as well.

two large horizontal plates are separated by 4mm .the lower plate is at a potential of -6v.what potential should be applied to upper plate to create an electric field strength of 4000 v/m upward in space between the plates
relavant equation:
E=v/d
attempt at question:
4000=v/0.004
v=16v
but the answer of this question is -22v

Okay, so my class is working on Newton's third law. Along with this, our teacher gave us an example of a boy who stands on a scale. The boy weighs 1000 N and he is holding a dumbell in his hands of 50 N. We need to find out why the scale reads 1050 N instead of just 1000. He wanted us to explain why the force of the boy's hand holding up the dumbell at 50 N wouldn't cancel out the dumbell's weight, and none of us knew the answer. Please help me understand!
