If earths curvature of its surface is 7.98 inches per mile. How can we see a boat that is 20 feet high go over the horizon and dissapear if that boat would have to be about 30 miles away to be able to see it dissapear. *btw my math might be off* also it depends on how far the human eye can see at sea level. If anyone knows how far the human eye can see in such conditions that would help as well.

How far I can see? I can see sun,moon,planets and stars.

Waves :) Yes there are waves in the ocean, not just on the coast. Different levels constantly. If water were more consistent like say, concrete, I would guess you wouldn't see it.
