What is the inaccuracy of an ammeter?? plus/minus how many amps?

That depends on the scale you're using. Take it as the smallest measure you can take "by sight" on a chosen scale.

It depends on the meter.

It had better not be +/- 0.1 A - I used to use an ammeter to measure micro and pic amps and that would have been totally useless.

that depends on what ammeter you use. the standard ammeter's error is plus minus 0.1A
