I forgot how to find velocities of things. I know it's displacement/time but for example if someone drives 1920 miles in 32 hours and then goes back the same way in the same time his average speed both ways would be 1920/32 of course. His displacement would be 0 though, so would his velocity be 0?

the color we see as red, is it really red?, or we just learned to call it red. perhaps we see green and call it red, just because thats the way we learned it. perhaps what I see red others just might see blue or yellow and also learned to call it red. but it's not.

aluminum conductor (resistance 50 ohms, mass 15g, specific heat capacity 0.215) at 20 deg Celcius is connected to a 10V power source for 3 minutes. To determine the final temp of the aluminum, what formula would I use? (This is an ALGEBRA based physics question). Resistance remains constant.

Thanks in advance!

You are given the masses and I know to calculate the one in the middle, you use F=Gm1m2/R^2 but how do I find the gravitational value for the objects on the outside since there is only one mass acting on it, is it zero? And I know the distances from the middle to the outside one on each side. Any help would be appreciated.

A 20.4 kg box initially at rest is pushed 4.08 m along a rough, horizontal floor with a constant applied horizontal force of 97.0653 N. Acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2.

If the coeficient of friction between the box an the floor is 0.434, find the work done by the friction in units of J.

Also, Find the final speed of the box in units of m/s.

A time varying net force acting on a 6 kg particle causes the object to have a displacement given by:
x = a + b t + d t^2 + e t^3
where:
a = 2.1 m,
b = 1 m/s,
d = -2.3 m/s^2,
e = 0.97 m/s^3

with x in meters and t in seconds. Find the work done on the particle in the first 2 s of motion. Answer in units of J.

I was just thinking..If I drank a whole lotta beer and then stood on my head, would I still have to pee? If yes, why? Does this mean that pee can actually DEFY gravity?! If no, maybe we should all hang upside down from harnesses until we are done drinking because it's a nag too pee all the time.

Two masses, M1 and M2, are initially separated by a distance, d. A force exists between them that is proportional to the product of the masses and DIRECTLY proportional to the square of their separation, with a proportionality constant C.

F = C (M1) (M2) d^2

How long does it take for the separation to become infinite? Classical physics only, please.

If an ore car with a mass of 38000 kg starts from rest & rolls downhill.....At the end of the tracks, 18 m lower vertically, is a horizontally situated spring with constant 520000 N/m. Acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. Ignore friction.

How much is the spring compressed in stopping the ore car (answer in m)?

A 8.50 kg block (m1) and a 7.55 kg block (m2) rest on a horizontal frictionless surface with m2 resting on top of m1. The surface between the top and bottom blocks is roughened so that there is no slipping between the two blocks. A 42.6 N force is applied to the bottom block.

What is the acceleration for the two block system?

What is the force of static friction between the top and bottom blocks?

What is the minimum coefficient of static friction necessary to keep the top block from slipping on the bottom block?

I need to make one for physics and I'm not good with science or engineering. I have no idea where to start. I have about 3 weeks to make this thing so any help would be greatly appreciated.
It needs to launch a ping pong ball 4 meters into a basket with sides about 18 inches high.
Please include websites with designs if possible. I have **no** money to spend on books and very little for materials.

A friend told me it was quicker to drive from york to london,due to some weird scientific theory. It had something to do with the fact that york is further north, so driving south was easier and quicker due to less of a gravitational pull. Is there any truth to this?
