Water is ejected from a water canon 45 degrees to the horizontal. The horizontal displacement of the water is 20 metres. Diameter of the circular jet is 2 cm. Density of water is 1000 kg/m^-3. Show that initial speed of the water leaving the canon is 14m/s

In STATISTICAL MECHANICS &THERMODYNAMICS u can observe these vars .Basically,i know that :
INTENSIVE VARS: These are independent of matter present in the system.
EXTENSIVE VARS:These are directly proportional to the matter enclosed by the system.
The extensive vars are the fundamental quantities.The first derivatives of the ex.vars are teh intensive vars.
FOR EXAMPLE:
EX.VAR: total volume,mole number,etc.
IN.VARS:pressure,temperature,etc.

I need different ways to measure the speed of light as accurately as you can without spending lots of money, or with materials that a school would have or could buy.

according to the theory of relativity since we're supplying it with energy when it's already travelling at te speedd of light?

you can mail me at tut_einstein@yahoo.com

i also need some help in the basics of thermodynamics, and i'm not familiar with calculus. so it's a prob. cud someone help me?

Can anyone confirm me with this? Light slows down in glass because it is absorbed silicon/oxygen atoms and emitted to another, thus it takes up extra time and gives a lower value of c.

However, if you consider each "transmission", light still goes around the atoms at c.

Is this correct?

Actually i got some ideas including adding a weight inside the can so that the weight will bring the can to rotate forward.However it is only for a short distance. I need the can to move up an inclined plane for a considerable distance and most importantly it must be able to move on its own and must be related to mechanics. In addition, this project only limit us to use simple materials. So to all the physicist out there..please help out my little poor soul here...thanks a million....remember to provide as much details as possible...

My question deals with a balence beam.
Lets say I have a huge cement slab that hangs down verticaly 8ft exactly from the pivot point. The balence arm is 25ft long and has a weight which can slide from tip to pivot point. This cement slab weighs lets say 5,000lbs and the sliding weight is unknown, "X".

Does the fact that the cement slab hangs well below the pivot point acting as a type on lever the moveable weight now has to work against effect the equation?
MxD=MxD is now MxD=MxDxL
M=mass D=distance L=leverage

I have uploaded a picture of what I mean to my forum...
It can be viewed here...
http://www.secrets2flight.dfuzed.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=9#9

What kind of equation would I use if my guess was wronge???
I am guessing leverage has something to do with it, but I have not gotten the chance to take highschool physics yet.

based upon a constant circular motion using the pressure built from the the alchohol boiling at a much lower temp than the water creating steam which in turn will create an anti gravial force, which disrupts the magnetal force and agitate the polaririty, and therefor create the low heat require to boil the alcohol, and still leave the water as a constant?
