For example if the window is missing or there is a small hole while the plane is in the air, will it cause people to be sucked out the window or the plane to crash? Please backup your answers with sources, I seen this on Mythbusters once but I can't find any solid proof!

I really would like one where a water drop hits a standing body of water.
The reason is I need to run the video thru a set of mathematical software formulas for testing purposes.

What would the size of the earth be ( in cubic centimeters) if:

1. It was "squeezed" into a density of a white dwarf?

2. It was "squeezed" into a density of a neutron star?

3. It was "squeezed" into a density of a black hole?

Is high frequency EM radiation responsbile for what we sense as "solid matter"?
I was just thinking about this lately..There is a whole range of EM radiation. As the frequencies go up, so does the energy levels.

Radio, then light, then UV, then X-rays, then Gamma rays, then cosmic rays, and beyond?? Each with a smaller wavelength, and higher energy level, capable of penetrating right through more and more matter. Eventually, this energy could probably go right through a large celestial body (cosmic rays?)

If these high frequency rays form standing waves, then maybe this is what we refer to as matter, and why we can convert matter to energy and vice versa.

If we speculate that gravity is caused by these rays, maybe the idea of a gravity sheild is possible...maybe this is what is happening at the core of the earth? And why its so hot? Cosmic rays being concentrated there?
These are speculations, but its an interesting line of thought.
Any creative answers/thoughts?

If space were a good vacuum, why does solid space debris exist there? Why does the shuttle not boil to pieces?

For example, if you depressurize water here on earth, it would boil and vaporize. I assume this would happen in space with water.

However, this would also happen with lots of other materials...like the coating of any satellites.

Seems like a trivial question, but its not really.

Thanks for any non-conventional thinking!

I've already finished my first year in University.. I'm now have to choose either Pure&Applied maths or Physics or ...(many other things)...!
Which is a more suitable road to theoretical physics- especially relativity, particle physics, astrophysics and string theory???
Note: i'm also interested in number theory, Chaos and complexity, and programming.

Assuming everything is energy, everything that is created takes form in energy (thoughts/ideas, but also materialized things like a wooden table). Can the non-materialized creations(thoughts/ideas) be changed, or are they also, like materialized things, "out there." This would mean thoughts/ideas put into the world, stay in the energy field of the earth. Can this only be "changed" by creating "opposing" ideas/thoughts?

My Question has to do with large engine design. I am aware that violent reactions take place when Oxygen and hydrocarbons combine. It doesn't seem that anything is being done to capatilize on this. I was a liquid oxygen handler a long time ago, we had a 50 gallon container leak on asphalt and cause a crater. The energy release/explosion started from a few drops of liquid.
It seems that a very large piston, some crude oil and some Oxygen injected would create some awesome energy for a small amount of fuel, not to mention, pretty cheaply.

Suppose a car is travelling at a constant speed in a straight line, with its windows open. Now someone fires a bullet from a gun (purely for science) perpendicular to the cars motion, such that the bullet goes through the open window of the car, through the car and out of the other open window on the other side. Assuming the bullet can travel fast enough does the bullet travel in a straight line (relative to an observer firing the gun) or does the bullet travel with the car as it goes through the car and then on its own as it leaves the car through the open window. Meaning does the bullet "enter" the frame of reference of the car for the brief time that it goes through it, and does it "return" to its own frame when leaving the moving car.
