I'm horrible at word problems. Please help me by explaining this: What is the formula, How can we plug it in (what goes where) and breaking it down for this problem and coming up with an answer: If Shua is on top of a 10ft? roof top, and she drops her tremendous brain on the floor- The time it took to hit the floor was ? 6 seconds. That's pretty basic, but even I don't know if these math #s are actually right because I'm just throwing out random #s. If you have a real velocity problem, please SHARE how you solved it!

the side (a) of a triangle ABC is calculated from the following formula
a/(sinA) = b/(sinB)
where lower-case letters refer to the sides and upper-case letters refer to the angles opposite those sides
The side b in error by 3.1%.
Aand B are given as 52 degrees and 51 degrees respectively, to the nearest degree.
Using partial differentiation find the greatest percentage error in the calculated value of a.

Consider the following procedure that purportedly finds the greatest common divisor of x and y, x>y.

FindGCD(x,y)
--If y|x return y
--Else return FindGCD(x, x mod y)

Is this procedure correct? if so, is it significantly faster or slower than Euclid's algorithm? Of not correct, why not?

i can't use a graphing calculator for this
i'm supposed to graph it based on a simpler function with transformations such as phase shift, stretch, shrink and such.

for example, like y=2x^2 +2, i would graph x^2, and then shift it to the left by 2 and stretch it by a multiple of 2.
10 points for first explaination, thank you!

A particle moves in the plane so that its position at any time t>=0 is given by:
x=cos(t) y=sin(2t)

Eliminate the parameter and find an equation in terms of x and y for the path of the particle.
Multiple choice:
A) y=x(1-x^2)^.5
B) y=2x(1-x)^.5
C) y=2x(1-x^2)^.5
D) y=2x(1-x^2)

I got y=2xsin(t) but I can't get rid of the "t". I've spent the last 10 minutes looking at a list of trig identities and none of them are doing me any good. I remember doing a problem like this before but I can't remember how to do it. So, if you could tell me how to do it I would appreciate it.

Thanks.
