i can't use a graphing calculator for this
i'm supposed to graph it based on a simpler function with transformations such as phase shift, stretch,shrink and such.

for example, like y=2x^2 +2, i would graph x^2, and then shift it to the left by 2 and stretch it by a multiple of 2.
10 points for first explaination, thank you!

y^2 = (2-x)(2+x)

To graph, make a truth table, and give some values to x or y to find y or x. Easy stuff.

ex: y = 0 then x=-2, +2 and so on

locate the unknown values of y with comprehend to x pondering the formal values of x. enable x = -2, -a million, 0, a million, 2. then y = x²+4 = 8, 5, 4, 5, 8 plot the x,y pairs: (-2,8), (-a million,5), (0,4), (a million,5), (2,8) and draw your curve.

Just an ideea:

you can write : 4-x^2 = (2-x)*(2+x)

y = - sqrt(4-x^2) = - sqrt [(2-x) * (2+x)]= - sqrt(2-x) * sqrt(2+x)
