Part A: Consider the function f(x)= 8sqrt[x] +4 on the interval. [1,7] Find the average slope of the function on this interval.

Part B: By the Mean Value Theorem, we know there exists a in the open interval (1,7) such that f'(c) is equal to this average slope. For this problem, there is only one that works. Find it.

Well done if you get this one it's hard
I think you have to start by 'pretending' that sin^4x + cos^4x is sin^2x + cos^2x and use sin^2x + cos^2x = 1
Then you have to do something with double angle formulae maybe... I don't know!!!

if some explanation could be given, that would be great. Text just throws these terms out there while dealing with trig functions, but doesn't explain what or how to locate them.

State the period and amplitude for the following equations:
y = 4sin(2x)
y = 3cosx
y=cos(2x)

The path of a rocket fired during a fireworks display is given by the equation s(t) = 64t^2− 16t, where t is the time, in seconds, and s is the height, in feet.

What is the maximum height, in feet, the rocket will reach?

In how many seconds will the rocket hit the ground?

Okay can someone explain to me what I have to do here. You don't need to give me the answer,but just help me get started so I can finish it.

Write a 2 column proof or paragraph proof.

Given: angle TQS is congruent to angle RSQ
angle R is congruent to angle T

Prove: Triangle TQS is congruent to trinagle RSQ

Now I realize this could be hard because I can't put the picture of the triangle,but just try your best.

THank you for your time. It is greatly appreciated!

A rancher wants to fence in an area of 580 square feet in a rectangular field using fencing material costing 1.4 dollars per foot, and then divide it in half down the middle with a partition, parallel to one side, constructed from material costing 0.6 dollars per foot.
Assuming that the partition is parallel to the side which gives the width of the field, find the dimensions of the field of the cheapest design.

I have these three problems and I have to graph each side of each problem to see where they overlap each other. Could someone tell me what the amp, and period is for each one, and if there is any VS, HS or anything else.

1.) sin 2x = -sinx

2.) sinx = cos2x -1

3.) sinx = -cosx

Remember, you have to do it for each side(left and right hand side) of each problem.
