How do you evaluate this? I was wondering what method you use to evaluate from :

(2/n) [(1+2i/n)^2 + 9]

to here:

(8i/n^2+ 8i^2/n^3 – 16/n)

Btw, this is an n Σ i=1 function.

I assumed the strongest beam to be a square rectangle, with sides eqaul to the square root of 72...But I'm not sure how to solve for the depth at all, and i dont know if I need to equations to relate to determine the maximum of the function. Please Help.

I have the total population for each state and then the number of deaths per 100,000 for each state should I divide the population by 100,000 then multiply that answer by the deaths per 100,000 to get an answer i.e if the population of Texas is 22,968,248 should i divide that by 100,000 and then multiply that answer by 237.8 (number of deaths per hundred thousand due to heart disease)?
