I need to solve for t. I'm not sure how. I know that you can't factor out a t, so what do you do? Show every little step please!!!!

5ny+cost=.5t+1
-1 -1
5ny+cost-1=.5t

ANSWER: 5ny+cost-1
------------------ <--divided by line
.5

I think you need to solve this using numerical analysis. You might try the Secant method of isolating the root(s).
