My grand-nephew has a question for school that will get him extra credit.
How if a young man who has an 18 inch step far will he have to travel in miles if he takes one step forward and two steps back to reach 10 miles and 100 miles?
I have no idea how to figure this out. Can one of you fine people explain it so that I could explain it to him?
I don't have a printer either.

The sequence of odd numbers starting with 3 is 3,5,7,9...
Consecutive numbers from this sequence can be added using the following pattern-
3+5+7+9=4x6
3+5+7+9+11=5x7
3+5+7+9+11+13=6x8

The first n numbers in this sequence are added. Find a formula for the total.

in the last line of my 7x8 matrix,[column 7,row 7] i have a zero and i dont know how to get it to a 1...here is my last matrix

i am using a TI-84 plus calculator for this and i used Xrow and row+ and Xrow+

solve the following equations

sin x = sin x tan x ,0< or equal x < or equal 360 degrees

ans :0 , 45 ,180,225,360 degrees

i would like to know how to get the ans 0, 180 and 360?

because i do in this method and only managed to get 2 answers from the 5 answers

sin x/ sin x tan x =1
1/ tan x =1
tan x =1 (1st/3rd quadrant)
basic angle = tan inverse 1
= 45 degrees

x = 45 , 180+45
= 45 , 225 degrees

What was the percentage of increase in motor vehicle production in countries outside the United States from 1950-1997?
1950=2571
1997=41344
so, I subtract 2571 from 41344 and get the increase number of 38773
next 28773/2571 and I get 11.19...have I done it right up to now and if so, what next...please help!!
