hi all

The height (h) in metres above ground of a tip of minute hand can be modelled with this equation

h = 90 + 3.5 sin ( pi * t / 30 + pi / 2 )

calculate height above ground when the tip of minute hand is at 20 minutes past midnight.

i get the answer 88.25 m but i think it is wrong.

my working is:

90 + 3.5 sin ( pi * 20 / 30 + pi / 2) i took the height as 20, as the minute hand was at 20 past midnite. hence only 20 mins if we take the 24 hr clock 00.20 so used 20 as the height.

any help appreciated.

Thanks

I'm currently working on angles and bisectors and I was confused by the notes:

120degrees = x/2 + x/4 + x/8 + x/16
and multiply all that by sixteen to get:

120 * 16 = 15x
and then my teacher went from that to:

8 * 16 = x
can someone explain this to me? (from 120 * 16 = 15x to 8 * 16 = x)
thanks!

Okay, I'm taking Algebra 1 this year, and we have this project where we get a year (my year is 1900) and make a math problem out of it.

The math problem that I made is:

[(867*2)-(7*204)]*(1896/316)+[... (The whole thing doesn't show up, but only the first part is important).

Well, I know that the problem equals 1900 (I made up the problem and checked it), but I don't understand if I'm supposed to use brackets in the problem, or if it's correct just to put an extra set of parentheses like: ((867*2)-(7*204)).

This is for a major grade project, so I need to know which is the correct way of writing the problem please!
