But is the line only front to back with all children as a group in the same position in line? Then the line is one child front to back... eight inches long.

it depends on how tall the kids are. typically our arm span is about the same as our height. let's say these kids average 4'6" each. that would make the line 4,500,000 feel long or 852.27 miles long.
